  1. One game and a lucky goal. I sware some of you on here make me laugh. I was at the game, it was awful in the second half once again. Taking Nzog off killed it for me. He has gone to far for me McLeish still Out!

The crowd reaction killed it for me. We needed to get a striker on because we were never going to score. We took off the least effective, and most expendable midfielder, and the crowd reacted the way that they did.

The reaction was pathetic and ignorant, and further underlined that whatever this manager does he is one step away from ten thousand knives in his back.

For today at least, he did know what he was doing, and once again a section of our support have brought shame on the Aston Villa name.

Least effective? .......really!? Have you ever seen Marc Albrighton? Nzogbia and Ireland are the only creativity we have in that starting 11

  2. It gets me how people keep saying "we'll be ok, we'll win a couple". Why will we? We've just played 2 of the worst teams I've ever seen in the Premier League and got 2 points. Personally, I think we're ****.

6 wins in 27 games, says it all really. **** off ginger.

  3. Don't post on here often, but I read VT boards all

    day.

I work at a bookies in Cannock and we have had two bets placed on Martinez in the past half hour. One cash bet of £5k from the owner of a sports bar and a telephone bet of £25k from a client who has connections with Mr Ellis.

I never post rumours and don't claim to be ITK, but those are large sums of money!!!

At what price?, a £30k bet would surely have got the market suspended?

Evens. We have since gone out to 8/13 30k not enough to suspend the Market.

Update! Just had guy who placed first bet try to place another 5k. Has taken it elsewhere because of odds

You were offering evens ? When I checked ladbrokes at 7.30 this morning, Martinez was 1/4.

  4. I don't think he's all he's being cracked up to be. The season before last when the whole team was pulling their weight he was average. He shone in an underperforming team last season and all of a sudden he thinks he's ajern robben.

This guy needs to wind his neck in,he would still be up north eating lard sandwiches and playing in the championship if it wasn't for villa.

I agree with this. We bought the arsehole when he had a broken leg, and this is how he shows he gratitude ?

I found an old copy of the Birmingham Mail today ( dated 12th May 2011), with an interview with Mr Downing saying how he hopes to sign a new deal, happy at the club, doesn't want to move, grateful for us sticking by him when he broke his leg etc etc.... - how quickly he has forgotten this !

Either he is influenced far too strongly by his agent or is just a plain and simple grade A tosspot.

  5. Look im pissed off about the selection but you had Friedel, Dunne, Clark, Delph, Petrov, Gabby, Heskey - who all are first team players. Then you had Bannan and Delfounseo who play in the FA cup ties normally. Bradley who is a US international and has been given a chance in the cup. The only issue I had was Herd at right back when we have Walker!

We had Delph out of position as we have an England international left back who the manager as fallen out with. We had a midfielder in Herd making his first senior start as a right back with a perfectly good one sat on the bench, a perfectly good one training with the reserves and a perfectly good one out on loan.

We had a striker in Delfouneso playing right midflield/wing, we had a striker in Agbonlahor playing left midfield/wing whislt three wingers who'd played one game in the previous 18 days sat scratching their arses on the bench.

We had Bradley who hadn't started a competetive game in months making his first start for us whilst Reo Coker arguably our best performer over the last few games was sat watching the others scratch their arses on the bench.

It was unnacceptable from Houller. Simple as that.

Absolutely this. Nail on the head sir.

The bit that was the best for me was when Mr Houllier says 'Young and Downing wouldnt have stopped that first goal' - well not they probably wouldn't have mate, but we might have 1 or 2 decent attacks in the game and perhaps looked like scoring a goal.

His decision making is appalling. To make subs on 70 mins at 3-0 nil is shocking. Im so angry its untrue. To basically give away our only chance of any success this season is unforgivable. Im wasting no more money on away games and I wont renew in the summer unless he goes.

    Houllier out.

  6. Next week against Blackpool we need to go with:

    strikers - Bent and Heskey

midfielders - Downing, Bradley, Makoun, Young

defenders - Walker, Cuellar, Collins, Clarke

    goalkeeper - Friedel

Bench - Dunne, Reo Coker, Albrighton, Delfouneso, Delph, Bannan, Marshall

Dropped - Agbonlahor, Petrov and the rest.

IMO that's a bit harsh on gabby, it's not his fault he's being played in a position GH should know by now he can't.

He is a shadow of his former self. Dropping him may give him the kick up the arse he needs.

Yeah great idea! Play the STRIKER at left wing back and then drop him when he doesn't perform.

    Genius.

  7. Sack him, useless clearing in the woods. His tactics are an absolute disgrace. Best finisher playing left midfield, best winger/crosser playing holding midfield and towards the end centre half, and 1 up front at home again. Said it all to me when Bruce bought on Gyan when they already had 2 strikers on - they could smell blood by then. What does the Frenchman do ? - exactly what the blind man sees. Gabby only went up top when Heskey had been sent off - shocking, just shocking.

This is my 11th year with an ST and I think its the worst I've seen us play. Under O'Leary we were bad, but I think this is worse. The way the league is this year I think we're doomed.

  8. The bar we went to was Callaghans ( I think ) which was attached to the side of a hotel. Possibly the worst organised bar Ive ever been to, 2 staff serving at a bar with approx 12-15 around, 5-6 deep. Took 35 mins to get served so had to buy 4 pints each when finally got there !!!!

  9. Chiltern Railways are the way foward, i've got a super off peak return that gets to Wembley Stadium at 11.29 for just £38.80.

Hopefully they've got plenty of toilets on the trains!

Comes up at £19.50 rtn for me

Not sure about this one as been on Chiltern before and its rare you get a seat on a normal day and dont fancy standing for 2 1/2 hours

Thats the one Ive booked mate, £19.50
