  1. Brad Fridel,

    Woooahhhhh,

    Brad Fridel,

    Woooahhhhh,

    He comes from America,

    He play for Villllllla.

Same can be sung about Guzan, regarding they both come ofcourse.

    Feedback welcome. :D

You can guarantee it will be 'Friedel, Friedel, Friedel'. Inventive

The first said chant is hardly inventive though is it!Just as cringeworthy if you ask me.

  2. Do they have anything to do with Villa? Or football? Or anything at all?

It's called terrace culture, and irrelevant songs were sung as regular as clockwork at every ground in the country, before Sky invented 'footie'..and grounds were made all seater.

Remember Football used to be about working class lads going down the match on a Saturday and enjoying themselves, hence some of the irrelevant songs.

I'd rather sing irrelevant songs than some of the efforts posted on this thread.

I wish people would get it in to their head that you can't re-create lyrics to a pop song and call it an anthem.

  3. On the train back yesterday some songs were being sung that i didn't know, "there's no snow on snow hill" anyone know it?

Think that was something like 'the palm trees sway in summer lane' - an old song that was popular in Aston.

Edit: Found these lryrics on the internet.

Now if you’re friends from the country for a day or two,

Take them round the town all the sights to view.

First in Cutler’s for a drink you’ll call, you show

Then the fountain and the Old Town Hall.

Then along Colmore Row, the car you can catch,

To see the Water Melons on the old Black Patch.

But there’s one sight you must not miss.

Before your friends say goodbye, just mention this.

You ought to see the palm trees swaying way down Summer Lane.

Every Saturday night there’s a jubilation

Hear the Birdies singing in The Salutation

Though there’s snow in Snow Hill,

You’ve cause to take the train.

To your southern home where the weather is warm

It’s always summer in Summer Lane

Now you keep on sighing for your Dad and Mam

Your Mason Dixie Line and your alabam.

You say you’ve heard your Tennesse call,

Yet you never saw Tennesse at all.

And your songs from Mandy Land have been done Brown

So let’s have a song about your home town.
