  1. BOOOOOORED!!!

Mind numbingly dull football, worth a tenner of my money and no more.

All around the 6 mark apart from the following:

Downing: 3 - gave the ball away time and time again.

A Young: 5 - plays too wide and NEVER beats his man. Doesn't realise there's more to football than constantly whipping crosses in (often poor crosses at that).

Petrov: 4 - although fairly decent on the ball, we needed him to move the ball quickly and get about the pitch rather than hang around in front of defence.

Milner: 5 - wasteful at times but I feel sorry for him in these kind of games as he needs more help alongside him.

Gabby: 3.5 - no intelligent movement, no natural finishing ability. Fluffed 2 golden chances.

O'Neil: 2 - Why was Reo not on the bench (not necessairly having a go here - was he injured?)? In a game where the opposition sat deep and flooded the midfield, a central pairing including Stan had nowhere near enough energy to make things happen. The game was crying out for Reo or Delph to mix things up a little.

Without a new striker, we definitely will not get champions league football.

Not sure some on here even know anything about football, we played well up to putting the ball inn the net, I know its a game of opinions but try to find a bit about the game of football before you talk a load of crap.

Downing 3 you having a laugh

After the Liverpool goal last night, about five idiots in the hospitality box nearest the Holte End in the Witton Lane Stand, did their best to incite an incident by jumping around and lauding it up well after the goal. All they were trying to do was wind up Villa fans and basically take the piss, which they succeeded in doing, as they were confronted by a few Villa fans, if this had happened in any other area of the ground, away supporters would have been kicked out, but is there a different rule for the ' prawn sandwich brigade'.

I have stopped having a beer at half time, due to most time it being warm, and last night after waiting to get served for what i thought would be a nice hot bovril only to find it luke warm, it s too busy to take it back and complain, if the club want people to spend there cash in the ground they need to greatly improve the caterers they employ.

Still gutted after last night, but sure we will turn it round.

    Have a good new year

  3. How can someone who may have been to one game at Sunderland and also had free travel to get there, have preference over season ticket holders like myself.

It is a shocking decision by the club, and I cannot be the only season ticket holder who feels the same.

The club should be looking after the supporters who turn up every week, not the ones who go to one away game.

  4. Anyone doing the Great Midlands Run next month? 8.5 miles, I think.

Yep I am. Starting to think it was a bad idea now..

I'm gonna run the course sometime tomorrow, so I'll let you know about Cardiac Hill. :winkold:

Done it last year for the first time, great event looking forward to this year.

  5. Hi General

Last September my best friend aged just 34 and life long Villa supporter died suddenly of Deep Vein Thrombosis while waiting to return home from working away in Germany. The loss has hit myself really hard and even more so for his parents, brother, wife and daughter who has just turned five years old.

At the funeral, the family (who are all Albion fans) wishes were that they did not want any flowers from friends, but asked for donations to Acorns, due to its connections with our club.

There is an account set up at Acorns in his name and after further charity events, that has a total of over £2000, this will increase with more events organized for this year.

His brother had contacted the club asking if possibly arranging a charity game amongst friends and family at Villa Park in honor of his brother, and obviously all proceeds going to Acorns.

Yesterday while leaving the game i received a text from his brother, stating that he had managed to arrange the game at the Wolves ground, because Villa had refused permission for a game to take place.

I know the club probably have rules etc on the use of the pitch for such events, and if there is anything at all the club could do to help in our fund raising it would be greatly appreciated.

If not the game taking place at Villa Park, a signed shirt or ball that could be raffled off, would be fantastic gesture.

On a lighter note, would just like to thank you and everybody connected with the club, for the excellent work you are doing for Aston Villa Football Club.

    Up the Villa

  6. Great article, I love the new regime, but looking at the present situation, best player wanting away, and after two years no decent right back, it is worrying .

Come on lets sign the right players to give the fans something to look forward to the up coming season.

This is our moment dont lets fu*k it up Martin and Randy.

  7. Off to the V festival on the Saturday, just down the A5 for us , so usually go most years, only for the day though, a full day of music and ale enough for lightweight like myself.

Not the best line up for me personally, but looking forward to The Verve again, saw them in Manchester at xmas, awesome.

Fingers crossed that they change the Man Shite game to the Sunday.

  8. At the start of the month thought we would have 2 new signings, now think will be lucky to get one decent player in, perhaps we have not the money to spend we think we have.

But I am sure Martin knows what he is doing, just put your faith in the Irishman!
