  1. General,

Another of those "You probably missed this in the middle of all the pointless Barry/Transfer questions" posts from me.

    Thanks in advance

    General,

    A few questions from me:

    1) Holte Hotel pre-match - Will the club continue with the invites next season ? We have three season tickets and have had two of them for decades however neither myself, my mum or my gran have ever been invited in before a game.

    2) Bodymoor Heath - I've seen you state that groups of people cannot get to look around. What does one have to do to get an individual invite/appointment to look around ?

    General,

I think it is about time we were told what is happening at our club as the reports show our Captain has decided to leave for our Rivals, making them a stronger team and weakening ours.

I think its time the club advised the Fans , what their intentions are for us and where our future lies. As it seems the Club are not matching our Captains ambitions of Champions League football.

For our Captain to leave to join a club still under tumoil with regard to the Board arguments, this really does show me that we have no ambitions as a club to challenge the Top4.

We are miles behind even Spurs at the moment and it pains me to say we will struggle to get any players to join us.

I cannot see how this shows as an example to the other players in the squad, next season if Ashley has another good one, are we going to let him join Liverpool as they are on the lookout for a Winger!!!!!

Who next after him, I must say I am really really dissapointed in the whole situation at the moment.

My question is "Do you skip over comments like the one above now or do they still get to you ?"

Personally I just take them with a pinch of salt and I think you should too. You've stated on a number of occasions the club's aim is CL football and I for one believe you.

Gareth Barry has stated he wants to play CL football NOW, Aston Villa can't offer him that so if that's his true reason for leaving then AVFC couldn't do anything more to keep him.

As for us being miles behind Spurs ?!?! :?

Keep up the good work General.

  3. general,on the 29th of feb (page 372 of this thread) i asked you about availability of season tickets for my son for the 2009/2010 season you said that there will no problem to obtain a season ticket for him ,so my mind was put at rest ,now i find out that there is over one thousand people on a waiting list for the 2008/2009 season can you explain what has happened for a waiting list to now start and how do i go about getting my son a season ticket for the 2009/2010 season sitting next to me and my son in the lower holte, many thanks daniel

To be fair the general said he "didn't envision a wait list".

He can't predict everything and it's certainly unfair to suggest he said it would be no problem.

General - In a similar line to Ads' question is the season ticket literature being delayed by the fact there will be options for European match subscriptions ? Or will the club, until we're in the group stages at least, be basing it on this season's away purchases ??

  4. General, another question if I may (and it's still not about Season Tickets!)

Is there anyone at Villa who could help me trace the history of my family attending Villa Park ? How long of season tickets existed and how far do records go back ?

As mentioned above I know my grandad was a big part of the club (even though he died before I was born I've heard all about him) and his father before him. I'm oretty sure he held a number of the first ever shares issued in the club but would love to know more.

Any ideas who I should speak to, I'd love to know my Villa history.....

  5. General, my question.

Who should I speak to about arranging visits to Villa Park for VIPs ?

My gran is 87 this year and used to take my mum to the Villa every week (and then vice versa as they both got older!) before she began to have memory problems. She took over "Villa Duties" after my granddad died at a relatively young age, Villa was his life and my gran fell in love with the club just as much. She still loves to tell stories of how her weekend would depend the mood of my grandad based on how the villa did.

I, my mum and my cousin are Season Ticket holders in the Upper Doug Ellis stand and would love to set up something special for her next season sometime as she still knows about and loves the Villa. Even though her ability to recall recent memories is going her memories of the Villa continue to live on.

  6. Sing to the theme tune of 'Flipper'...........

    HIS NAME IS ASHLEY ASHLEY!

    HE'S FASTER THAN LIGHTNING

    JUST WATCH THE BALL SPIN

    WHEN HE WHIPS ONE IN

    HIS NAME IS ASHLEY ASHLEY

    VILLA'S NUMBER SEVEN

    WHEN HE'S ON THE BALL

    HE'LL NUTMEG YOU ALL

simple tune and easy to sing..i reckon it would sound good on the terraces.....think it would need at least 2 verses to be worthwhile though.....too short otherwise

    I like this one :D

Final two lines could rhyme playin' and win too.

    AND WHEN HE"S PLAYIN'

    THE VILLA WILL WIN!!!
