  1. Yes, I know four. My old one from 2012, new one 2018, brothers and my daughters.

Cna't access or link to the the one for my daughter (Cub Member) and the new one given to me in August 2018. Yhey exist  but I can't log in and when I try to link to them through the two older FAN IDs it finds them on the system. However, it says unable to link to as linked to other family group!!

  2. Like others, I got my daughter a Cub membership, but booked my tickets through family, so I have a problem in terms of how many games are allocated to me.. Also, when I got my daughters cub ticket I was given her FAN ID and mine, . Apparently, now I have two FAN IDs for same address, one is Alex _____ (which is new one ) the other is Alexander ___________.( which I have used since 2012). Apparently, I have booked tickets this season in both these names.

My problem is I can't access my daughters or mine from August 2018 o the system. When I try to link these accounts to mine or other family members it says that the two ids are already linked to a set of family members!!!

Any ideas what I can do?

Also, finding it impossible to get through to ticket office on line. Also, I live in Dublin and we use our family address in Chelmsley for our tickets.

  3. I can tell you all Róisín is in bits about this. This clip is from the Rose of Tralee festival on Tuesday and it is one of the most watched live TV shows in Ireland and over 2000 people were in the audience. She was really nervous but doing fine until the FA Cup came out and the video and her mind just went blank. She is a massive Villa fan and always has been, just ask Peter Chatham or any of the lads from Murrays in Dublin .

  4. Am flying into London on Saturday for the game and wondering if many Villa fans will be in central London to watch the Arsenal game and create a bit of pre match atmosphere. We are stopping out at the Barbican and thinking of heading in towards Covent Garden on the Afternoon. Any ideas would be appreciated.

  5. Randy for listening to the wrong people.

When MON was in charge, his style, the players he bought, the wages he paid average players were criticised. It was felt from the not-very-well educated that with the players we had, if we had another more tactically astute manager who didn't invite pressure for long periods of the game and made time-wasting substitutions at the end of games where we conceded late on that we would be top-4 and would be able to win trophies. MON, it was thought, was standing in the way of us going further.

My belief is that after the wage bill had gotten so high on players that MON never played, Randy and his advisers decided that he didn't really know what he was doing with transfers, and his training methods and playing style were antiquated so they decided to pull the plug by making a few of the decisions for him with transfers and effectively taking his power away to negotiate contracts himself. As this happened, MON decided his position was untenable and walked. I don't believe it was done out of spite, it was simply unfortunate timing.

Now, anyone with a balanced viewpoint could see that the stakes were simply so high for MON during his 3 years here that to really have a crack at the top 4 it needed significant investment and a lot of financial speculation before reaping the rewards later down the line. Players don't want to come to the Midlands to live or play. Even the North-East is seen as a nicer place to be than Birmingham. Therefore, to even get mediocre players they would have to be paid over the odds wages. I believe this was part of the deal that MON and Randy had when he was first brought to the club, and why I believe the relationship starting breaking down, when Randy starting reneging on the deal. He couldn't afford to take a chance on young players he wanted to bring through, he couldn't afford to lose a single game more than he had to.

MON was entirely a pragmatist. Attractive, free-flowing, passing football was discounted in favour of counter-attacking and wing-play. From my own point of view, these are perfectly acceptable tactics for levelling teams. How many times did you see us match the 'big 4', only to be humbled by relegation fodder the next week? Year upon year we saw progress, but with moneybags City turning cheat-mode on and Spurs suddenly seeing their investments come to fruition I think significant investment was required to make the next step, which is what Randy withdrew from.

The point where it needed a fair bit of money thrown at it to make the next step and continue challenging the outside of the top 4, Randy withdrew, after the general viewpoint of the majority of the fans reinforced his own suspicions.

It was then a valiant attempt to use our main asset of youth, and bring in a youth developer such as Houllier to set us up well for the future, but Houllier is not the pragmatist that MON was, he's an idealist. With the right continental flair players his teams will play beautiful football, but in the meantime we will get some hammerings. If MON was still here in this situation we would have had almost no kids in over these months, but we would be in the top half. Sidwell would have featured a lot more, but we would have had a few more 0-0 draws.

So right now, Houllier is trying to be Arsenal with inexperienced players when more experienced, less skilful players would have been more solid.

Sorry for harping on about MON so much in this, but he really knew what he was doing. Randy lost faith too early, took his support away and now we're suffering the consequences.

    100 per cent in agreement.

  6. A league cup quarter final, that's a big local derby, between the Villa and the scum, on a Wednesday, in December, at night time, no of course there won't be any violence.

Direct quote from the fixtures committee of the FA.

  7. Hope it works out for Ireland. As of yet nobody really knows if he will make it. His record for his country is well confusing and his record for Man City does not prove that he has what it takes long term.

his record for his country doesnt come into it, since he doesnt play for his country out of choice

and his record for city is that he was fantastic when he got a good run in the team

I know he doesn't play for his country, but he has never put forward a real reason for this. various crazy rumours have floated around, but he has never explained fully why he won't play for his homeland. To me it leads me to be unsure where his head is at. this is also backed up by some of his stramge off field antics.

In relation to his playing at City, the point i was making was not that he had not done well the year before last, but that this form had not continued and that the manager had not given him a long run sine. Plenty of players have done well for short periods, but this does not always lead to guaranteed long term success.

As i said in the post I hope he does prove a good buy

I just hope the change of club will mean he looks at his career and decides to get it back on track. I hope he makes himself available to play for Ireland and he uses Villa to show how good a player he is.

At the moment I find myself hoping for the best and fearing for the worst with regards to everything to do with the club.

  9. Don't think we are missing the point BOF. I read the article and it puts its point over well, I just don't agree with it.

I feel we had a quality manager who improved us every year, insisted on discipline, refused to pamper his players and wated things done his way or the high way. To me this was the approach that was needed and i don't care if the players were happy or not.

With regard to Macy D well I wish him the best. However, I am worried as the LONG TERM record of reserve coaches taking over clubs is not generally great.

  10. Yeah it was so **** shit when we improved season on season and so great when our manager left 5 days before the season started. What a weight lifted off our shoulders.

Completely agree. How shxt was it to be a respected club again. How shxt to be here in Dublin and be able to considered a team everybody was worries about playing. How shxt for my kids at school, being anongst the only Villa fans there, to be able to give as good as they have to take from all the Chelse, Man U and Liverpool fans.

    Roll on the new era
