Our owners want and can afford the best stadium in England, unfortunately this can’t be achieved at our beloved villa park in Aston and it’s location.

I see this as a positive not a negative. To become one of the biggest clubs in the world in the future you are not going to do this in Aston with the multiple issues it brings UNFORTUNATELY .

If a piece of land can be purchased for them to build the best stadium in the uk with hotels car parking for 10s of thousands with a huge train station nearby and scope to keep adding then that’s what there long term planning will be.

All being built whilst we still get 42k at villa park and people/ sponsors/ investors seeing where we going.

We have bid twice or three times.We are now so organised that not one bid would of gone in if the professional outflit running the show thought there was no chance.No way would these guys be wasting there time on things like this if they had any inkling that there was no chance or they could be used by the agents to boost his position.Villa are now a different animal to what we have suffered for decades.Its absolutely on and Arsenal will sell when we match the valuation. So we all want us to progress every year and this coming one our aim is Europe but we are going to close on the top 6 with 1 proven striker. Yeah right!! If we are to believe nswe intentions and I do then I believe they believe a squad needs to be built to do that and they are going about doing that. We need another striker and Tammy ticks the boxes. We need to start to thinking big time like our owners and let them assemble a squad that’s needed.Tammy is perfect for our development and to help us onto our next phase. Think squad !!

Yes it was and they to were stand out as well as well as a winger ( who was not villa) but Barry really looked special and was either assisted both or assisted one and scored one, I can’t quite remember. Was against a very good Croatia side.

I now have total faith in the people who run this club. In this I mean if they believe this lad  will bring massive contributions to villa over the next few years then I trust what they ALL agree on. I also now trust that IF this guy was to fail ( I doubt it ) then the 15-20-25-30 million would really not be earth shattering to us. When you think of the money wasted on shit and wages over the last 10 years then having a guy like this to fill a position we are in need of as a priority is a no brainier. Him Jack and sjm is a unbelievable midfield for a promoted team and if kept together could propel us into dreamland in the coming seasons.. 

48 and supported us since my grandad took me up when I was 5. Season ticket holder from Ron 1990 until O’Neill left. Now a son of 10 on villas books and I personally have had connections with this site for many years and now my son is very much into this site.

If this is whats going to be reported over the next couple of hours and we havent actually offered him the job, then expect a official response on the os, if theres no response then i suspect he was actually offered the job and **** did turn us down.

If Martinez does not join us it is because he did not get the job. Villa are a massive step up from Wigan. Its the same when he was at Swansea and they came calling.

As nice as Dave Whelan makes himself out, he is obviously pissed off at the interview, in that RM requested to attend an interview and DW didnt like this.

I doubt very much DM was first choice and we would have contacted him 9 days ago as the front runner.

Its an interview process, with a good few applicants. When you go for a job, up against others, it does not mean you get the job after your interview. There is usually a date they " get back to you".

Sky and the papers have been blocked out of AVFC matters for a few weeks and they do not like it, so the RM thing comes up and then they claw onto this, just like they did with steve.

Perhaps it’s going something like this, which I would say is the norm with appointing managers…

Send out letters and requests to suitable applicants employers/representatives for permission to talk, we have sent out letters to our choices and obviously RM is a choice and we have spoken to him. He will obviously be interested and now its got out that he’s one of the ones we have spoken to he’s asked us to let him know ASAP if he’s got the job so he can put the whole thing to bed. We have said no worries we understand we have a couple of others to speak to and will make our decision by Friday and will let the suitable applicant know and advise to the others thanks but we have chosen? At that RM can advise that he’s staying at Wigan or..

Its pretty obvious that we have a shortlist and that shortlist would have been approached, we have no idea on that shortlist and the reason RM is being talked about so much is HE is the only one that has been confirmed officially ( by Whelan) that we have approached.
