Maybe Xia needed an 'associate' who knew about takeover dealings in Europe and England and not one who knew about MSG manufacturing in China... Don't get me wrong some of what you can read online about Samuelson doesn't sound great but I'll judge those involved based on what they do for Villa.

So (my assumption is) Samuelson must have also worked Hollis at the Villa end as well and the majority have praised his work on this...

I think in terms of stability & because any potential American buyer would not be up to speed with the hands on management side of things, that it would be realistic to stick with the continuity of Lambert & see what happens for 12 months.

 

The downside of this is obviously, if Lambert isn't really in the long term plan, why invest in players of his choice.

 

Assuming there will be investment, the first stage would have to be to assemble a team that can compete in the league, even around mid table & then build from there. We have laboured for 2 seasons now & there is no platform at present to build on.

But even if Lambert isn't the long term plan of these potential new owners he still has the ability to buy some better players than what we have been restricted to these last few years. His expensive signings such as Benteke and Okore look like some of his better players he has bought. I'd like to hope that buying players of a similar ilk to these two wouldn't financially cripple any new owners, and if it did then that says an awful lot about Lerner and his judgement more than anything else, whilst hopefully ensuring we aren't quite as hot and cold as we have been performance wise...

Players who aren't scoring and should be will almost always sort out their form against us.

Yeah I'm not worried... I live in Yorkshire so the sun is rarer than a display of love for Lancashire in these parts.

On Benteke I think he was misquoted via leading questions that have been translated poorly/lazily numerous times... He may still leave but I think we'll get top dollar for him if he does, I'd like to think we learnt something from the Milner move in that respect. If he doesn't then he'll get himself top dollar in his contract and another year to show he can do it consistently.

But just to be devil's advocate here, Moyes had a strong win % with Preston, 48% to be exact. Compared to Martinez's 26%.

Martinez 26% came in the premier league, Moyes 48% in the championship. . .

So we MAY have failed to sign some overhyped Scottish keeper. So bloody what?

My sentiments exactly Old Fart. O'Neill said he wanted to strengthen the defence and we all know what that meant. . . Now beacuse Sunderland are maybe about to sign a player the media has linked us with people on here are going potty.

Sorensen may not be a world beater but I bet he won us more points that he lost us last year. People seem to forget that most of our bad run coincided with his injury.

The DM role should be our number one priority for the summer in my mind. The Everon game was the final nail in McCanns coffin for me. His crapness puts the rest of the midfield under so much pressure. . .

I guess a lot issues surrounding the DM role at the club depend on McCanns contract situation. . . If he's been told he's MONs number1 for that position we can forget Flamini (or other gud players) even considering us. . .

I cant be bothered to check if he's already been listed as a possible target but how abt Flamini? We all want a ball playing DM and I rekon he'd fit the bill (at least he would compared to McCant).

You've got to want them to come up. That way we have some derbies to look forward to and we can send them straight back down with a little luck. . .
