In my experience of both England and Scotland, there is no negative/positive influence on a Primary place, based on attendance at that schools' Nursery. They are treated separately. The Primary place is usually based on catchment areas, but the Nursery places often aren't.

The daft thing is, we all want the same thing (pretty much), but we fall out with each other because we define this same 'thing' in different terms.

None of us wants us to fail, whatever the foundation. We are all Villa through and through. Success is relative. Times have changed and our past isn't a pre-cursor for where we should be right now (at the forefront).

We're a great, great, club. We'll continue to be a great club. as long as we act with decency, our history cannot be erased. Our future may or may not be as we all want, but the game has changed so much, so quickly, that it is difficult to maintain our basic expectations sometimes.

UTV (the end, no matter what)

I love Christmas and nowadays it is an opportunity to spend time with some people that I don't see very often. I go out with all of my old mates on Boxing Day and that is usually an excellent day.

This year Christmas Day has the potential to be quite awkward though, due to a family situation. Hopefully the adults will think of the children and keep things nice and calm.

City do obviously have a lot of talented players, but I doubt they'll all be happy playing bit-part roles.

Just found out I am getting a 10% pay cut, starting 1st March. At least I still have job, I suppose.

I think it's the one day per year that I definitley don't do anything special for the missus - it always feels too contrived.

Not knocking anyone that does - it's just not for us.

I like a fair bit of the early material, and think they were a good band overall. Some of their stuff is definitely overblown and, frankly, a bit crap, but I think this applies to most bands.

I still think that their 1st Greatest Hits is a fine body of work and stands up against most other bands.

5 years ago I had just become a father for the first time and had never had to work away from home. A problem was probably along the lines of my sunday league team getting beaten.

Now I have 2 kids, 3 times the wage, but am working away from home (something I aim to remedy very soon).

Life is very good in many ways, and I have a lot to be thankful for, but my family are the most important thing to me and I don't get to see them often enough. On refelction I voted that things are roughly the same, but I'm hoping the next 5 years will be better for us.

I'm glad the majority seem to think they are better than 5 years ago. I think Villa play a large part in it for many!

I agree with Reo-Coker being a good signing - he has many of the characteristics that we desire in the middle of the park. The only question mark for me is his attitude, based on this season at the Spammers. Last season he looked very good.

I'd rather see the old guys involved in something other than Lee's testimonial - the circumstances don't seem fitting for the former greats to me. I would wish Lee all the best for the future, but his Villa career was over a while ago in real terms and he has reached the milestone almost by default imo.
