Could I first say that your communication to the fans via boards such as this has been a highlight for me as a sign of the integrity of the VP regime. I was wondering if ,that in your position as both a fan and as a member of the VP hierachy ,you understand the frustration of us "normal" fans at the apparent lack of transfer activity in the current window ? This is not a criticism of the deals already done, I feel that in previous posts you have made it very clear that MON and his team are responsible for the targets selected and that MON and Randy have a great understanding of the realistic money that they are willing to spend. However, maybe due to inflated expectations, I feel that many fans would feel dissappointed at the number of deals so far and ,as a fan in a unique position, wondered if you can see where many of us "are coming from".

IMHO , One more Big-ish signing followed by a couple of "fillers". However MON doesnt seem to want "fillers" despite the fact we may be left short in certain areas for cover.

A fair point, but could also be other reasons? (c'mon lets keep the conjecture bandwagon rolling its fun and hasn't been rolling for so long the wheels nearly fell off !) Do you not think its probable we will make at least one more quality signing ?

Press conference is being dicussed over on H&V forums, apparently one has been called on thursday, discussion there along the lines of why on thursday to announce signings already reported quite widely in the media, also much talk of MON saying things are still been worked on.

I posted elsewhere that MON was "spotted" about two three weeks ago having lunch with reo-coker. In the same post I also mentioned that I had been told by a "friend of someone in the know" had said that a press conference would be called on about wed/thurs of this week and an announcement would be made concerning a player not under general discussion. Although I did not particularly read too much into this I posted as an interesting possibilty as we all do. The two players connected with this info were ( and I know this is gonna be shot down) were SWP and Bellamy. It seems the press conference call was good, only time will tell on the other !

Agreed but after years in the wilderness ( how many names have we being connected with without any actions-dougenomics-) we are all entitled to a bit of over excitement and thats bound to put pressure on the team as a whole let alone the new signings !

I am sure i read elsewhere on this forum that MON was spotted having lunch with Reo-Coker about a fortnight ago. I hope this one has legs as at the beggining of jan we had a "guess the signings" lottery at work and I picked him ! BUT I also think he would be a quality signing.

I know this might sound like wishful thinking, but i am not so sure SWP is as dead as people think. With the recent kissy kissy makey up at chelski i think that there is still a chance for a deal to be done as mourinho wants money to spend and he now needs to wheel and deal like the lesser mortal clubs. I also reckon that bellamy is still an iron in the fire and have been given some "heard from a guy who knows a guy" info that a big signing not currently under discussion will be announced on wednesday/thursday at villa park.
