Spurzzz have Zokora, Jenas and Huddlestone all battling it out for two spots. As well as Malbaranque and Danny Murphy who can play there, im sure they have more as well!!!!! Really hope we get NRC could be a cracking buy!

I think that Richards is certainly a player we should be looking at signing. If he were to become availible then it would probably be between us, spurzzz, chelski, liverpool and newcastle. We have everything going for us: the right manager, training facilities, other upcoming young players to make us a realistic contender BUT we would have to use all of these to the best of our abilities in order to bring him here.

General, are the club planning to do any travel packages for the tour of the USA? I would love to go to one of the games but it all seems a big hassle and very costly at the moment.

In terms of a right back how about Jutsin Hoyte from Arsenal, he is young, quick and likes to get forward. Can't see him removing Eboue from the right back position at Arsenal, so he may want to leave.

I think Cisse is a great shout, he suffered at Liverpool from being played out of position. He was blatantly a Houllier signing, who Benitez just didnt really fancy. He is very quick, and while his finishing could do with some work, that is the market we are in at the moment. we cant go out and but henry or et'o, just yet!!!

Gabby and Luke are totally different players to Nugent anyway. I see Nugent as a more Carew esque player. I think Cyber Villians initial point was that signing Nugent would be a bit pointless as we have a lot of players with potential. Indeed, we payed around 8 million for potenital in the transfer window. If we are going to buy a new striker in the summer, i would really want a more "proven" player. However, to buy a "proven" player costs a lot, look at how much Andy Johnson cost Everton!

Dont you think what you said is a contradiction in terms. Sidwell has been a consitantly good perfomer for Reading a top 8 side all season and no one has said he is the next Viera, just a very very good player, amuch better alternative to Mccann. You then go on to say Tevez a man who has struggled this season and scored only one goal for a team destined to be relegated and you call him the next Zola! I have no doubt that Tevez is a good player and will become a class act, although im not sure if that will necessarily be in England.

As for suggestions for transfer targets i would love to see Ya Ya Toure, Eidur Gudjohnsen..etc but im not sure they can be considered realistic targets just yet!!

Erm i think the fact that Tevez is proven at international level and is a big name in the game has something to do with it :roll: , it's not a "contradiction" at all, and if you wanna talk about "top 8 side" Wigan were in the top 8 for ages last season and got the League cup final so should we sign Lee Mccoulgh now?, if you knew anything about Yaya Toure you'd know he's desperate to play in the same league as his brother (the premiership) and his team Monaco haven't done very well this season, he's been their one bit of quality and i'd be confident we could get him,

Actually alot of people on here have been after Sidwell for the middle of the park from at least the start of this season, he looks a lot closer to Vieira than Tevez looks to Zola at the minute.

Yes but that doesn't mean they are right does it? :roll:, imo he's an average player who won't take us to another level, our team is short enough as is it and imo we need someone big and imposing in the middle of the park who can get up and down the pitch and can both defend and create chanc

Tevez is proven at international level?? i would hardly say that, and anyway so is Milan Baros yet i dont think you would be calling for him back. From what i know Ya Ya Toure is desperate to play in the Premiership, for Arsenal, alongside his brother, now i know we are going places but it will take a while before we can compete with Arseanl. Just because a player wants to play in the Premier does not mean he wants to play for us, it looks increasingly likely we wont even have Uefa Cup footy next year!! Sidwell is the more realistic option and a player many people on here have been calling for since the start of the season.

I agree Blittle, Sidwell scores a few goals against us and suddenly "he's the next Vieira" or something, he wouldn't take us to the next level imo and is just living off a "good first season" ala Reo-cocker (even though he's clearly class), Davis, Ricketts ect, I think the likes of Yaya Toure, Appiah, Muntari and Mokaon are the way to go in the defensive midfield department, they are light years ahead of Barton, Sidwell and Nolan imo, as for strikers i hope Mon considers Tevez, the man is clearly a class act and at the right club i think he could be the next Zola.

Happy Birthday General you are a legend in the making!!!!! As for the shirts without the sponsor you can already get them in the club shop, i went in there before the Watford game and they had the away top in long sleeve with no sponsor on.

kanoute also had that season where he went o play in the african cup of nations. he was superb that season and he ws a fool for goin to play for mali, he came back and was never as good and then got sold!! always saw him as an affordable version of henry!!

West Ham have added some really good players in terms of strength in depth which, is exactly what we need. I didt think for a second we would be in for Davenport or Quashie as we have some depth in those areas. However, Boa Morte and Neill would be excellent signings and both of those clubs were unwilling to sell yet West Ham pulled the deals off. Boa Morte was Fulhams captain and Blackburn were desperate to keep Neill. We need platers asap, otherwise we will be involved in yet another relegation battle.
