After the 4 games I think we'll be fine....at least we beat Liverpool. Citeh and Chelsea will be out of sight soon, they have world class players. The Arsenal defeat was frustrating as Villa seemed happy to lose 3-0. I think we'll get something at Everton though.

He's lost 10 matches at home in the League.....I think I'd rather draw than lose
When people say its the worst ever in history, you mean losses right and not based on points gained. As McLeish gained less points at VP than any other manager so surely that's the worst. See with stats you can twist them anyway to make a point in an argument.
Not a really bad home record...just the worst ever in our history. Most of the fans (not me) wanted Lambert and defend him to the hilt and cannot ever admit that he's not a very good manager and one of the most negative ever.
Yes when Villa were relegated for the first time in their history I'm sure the fans weren't miserable at all because over eighty years later a manager was going to have a really bad home record.
They wouldn't have been as miserable because all those managers back in that time didn't have as bad home or cup records as this idiot we've now got in charge! So doom and gloom. We're a football club, just like the majority. We have good seasons and bad, win the odd cup. That's the nature of the beast.
I wonder if those alive between 1920 and 1957 were this consistently miserable.
Well he'd won 6 compared to McLeish's 4, and still gained more points than him with his draws. So I'd rather win.
He's no better than McLeish...We had not lost to Stoke or Fulham at home in decades and yet Lambert managed to do that last season....

A few bad runs! I like that especially after the illness that's swept the club. How's he an idiot? Had a few bad runs granted but it hardly warrants calling anyone an idiot.

I wonder if we did sell Vlaar would he play in December and January for another Prem team? Because he hasn't done that for us!

Denmark arms round the corner from the ground is ok and away friendly, be prepared to wait forever for a drink though
Yes, spot on. The Denmark is the best one for away fans, not far from East Ham tube station.

I´d really would like Martinez at Villa, was my first choice last season and probably still is, even if OGS blinded my vision for a while...
Did he lose 9 matches on the trot at Wigan last season? If he does stay there it's because he wouldn't get away with such a shocking run of results anywhere else!!

Cuellar was brill against the Wolves when we won 2-1 away & Houllier was in charge, then he dropped him next game. I'll never understand why he's never been in the team when not injured. He should be in every game now.

I think the comeback of Eduardo will be more of a threat than Arshavin.

Why were the dippers chucking rolled up socks onto the pitch last night?

Born in Bromsgrove, moved to West Heath when I got married as the Mrs is from Northfield.

Nice guy but a flop IMO. Had one good season but never scored in the big games and was anonymous in the derbies.

Albion have got a new song to the Martin O'Neill tune:
'We've done it before, we'll do it again'
One for you North Standers to sing back as we won't hear them:
'You went down before, you'll go down again'
Come on North Standers, give them plenty of stick for me please. I expect to see you all on your feet all game goading them
I'll be in that end on Sat. That song will be started no doubt.

DDID,anything can happen in football as has been proven time and time again.I love the fact noone is really noticing us at the moment.
Arsenal certainly aren't noticing you, they're still going on about the title but I think you're our direct challengers along with the Arse for a UEFA or CL spot.

never watched this, is it really worth it?
Yes it's fantastic. It's being re run on BBC2 again. Started last night.

It's Liverpool for me EVERY time. I remember as a child wanting them to get beat by Borrusia Munchengladbach in the 1977 European Cup Final. My hatred for them will never wane to this day!!

Some of the chants suggested on this thread have been brilliant but all we get down there is Anti Blues even though they've gone down (anybody would think that we're playing them in the next match!) and Martin give us a wave.

from another forum;
To the same tune as the "ten green bottles/German Bombers"
"You can't beat Laursen in the air,
No you can't beat Laursen in the air,
No you can't beat Laursen,
Can't beat Laursen
Can't beat Laursen in the air
"You can't beat Davies in the air,
No you can't beat Davies in the air,
No you can't beat Davies,
Can't beat Davies
Can't beat Davies in the air
"You can't beat Cuellar in the air,
No you can't beat Cuellar in the air,
No you can't beat Cuellar,
Can't beat Cuellar
Can't beat Cuellar in the air
"You can't beat Carew in the air,
No you can't beat Carew in the air,
No you can't beat Carew,
Can't beat Carew
Can't beat Carew in the air"
WE HAVE TO GET THAT GOING TOMORROW
That would be brilliant and would get a real atmosphere going.

I'm still not bothered even though we won last night.
-
Joey Barton not on the list then?
-
I've voted to get rid of him because if he stays it'll all start again for the January window...Liverpool will have the money then..etc..etc... I'll be glad to see the back of him.

Do they have anything to do with Villa? Or football? Or anything at all?
They were songs of old which used to get started on the terraces away from home in the 80s by a few of us after a gallon of beer pre match. We used get the strange looks but we didn't care!

The defending for the 2 goals was shocking! With 10 men we still should be defending set pieces properly. Benteke shouldn't have raised his hand despite the provocation.
