  1. Some of these comments are rather embarrassing, people seem to have taken this very personally. He is a footballer with no affiliation to Aston Villa and was trying to get as much money as possible.

If he improves us and we are not paying astronomical wages then what is the issue? Would have thought he'd turn out to be an improvement on KEA anyway.

  2. I friend has a copy of:

'football souvenier - first league clubs, photos of players and engagement lists season 1906-1907'

published by bovril and is struggling to find out any info on it.

Does anyone happen to know anywhere that specialises in these kind of things?

And as for Downing, for 20m he can **** off. He aint that good!

One good season, and that's good, not very good, not brilliant and way way from exceptional. His goals this season have taken away from the fact that he is a pretty average player, good at best. He can't take a man on and always shys from any tackle and his passing isn't anything amazing. Decent crosser of the ball and gets a few goals but surely a better foreign replacement can be found for less than £20m. We will miss Ashley Young far more than any of the players who have left us and 1 million times more than we would Downing. We payed an over the odds £12m for him when he had pins in his leg and had to sit and watch him play below average for most of his first season then he has one good season and wants out. Champions league quality? You're having a laugh!

Wow how very bitter. Yes he is hardly a world-beater but he was far-and-away our best player last season, surely then to call him "pretty average" is a sad indictment of how low we have sung as a football club.

If you think better foreign players are going to suddenly start to join us when our best players are leaving left, right and centre, then you are delusional. English players are over-priced and over-rated, but they are still the most suited to this league.

Glad someone has some sense. Yes, he ducks out of challenges/headers and is holistically a coward but he was by far our best player last season. He has a great footballing brain coupled with great balance/composure.He will no doubt be a massive loss. Shame he seems to want to leave, very ungrateful for what we did for him.

I would like us to sign Zig Zog anyway as a replacement for Young.

  4. I didn't watch the game as I am not in the country but I don't understand why KM is getting crucified for subbing Gabby for Hesky with 5 minutes to go with Stoke just equalising! Surely they were just going to lump everything into the box and obviously Heskey helps a great deal when defending corners etc? Also, I'm guessing, KM may have thought Heskeydog could hold the ball up a little more, although we know that isn't really true.

  5. From my United supporting friend.

    Yeah Rooney is on fire.

Yep, he will defo start. He loves playing, end of.

    I reckon he will play......

    Foster

    Raphael/Brown

    Evans

    Vidic

    Evra

    Valencia

    Gibson

    Fletcher

    Park

    Berb/Owen

    Wazza

You never know though. Oberton may feature, but we have no other options for the wing really apart from Valencia and Park. Midfield, he has many options. Scholes, Carrick didnt even mention below. Diouf may start?? You never know with SAF, as he does like to mix it up for this competition.

  6. I have a ticket finally after trying all kinds of avenues for a while now. The only problem is it is an £86 ticket in the Manchester end.

Anyone have any ideas of how I could swap it?

    My ideas are:

Post this on a few Man United fan forums and see if anyone is in the same boat as me, and swap on the day.

Try swapping with a tout, and even swap for a cheaper ticket say £54 if needs be.

I was wondering who's tickets would be most in demand from the touts? Ours as we haven't been there for ages or them as they have a much bigger fan base although this is a small time comp for them and they get to wembley at lest once pretty much once every year!!
