Wouldn't mind Gudjohnsen - more likely to be him than some of the other Barca players

(2) This point may appear rather small fry. But as a keen purveyor of football games i notice that the most repected of these: Pro Evolution Soccer, does not have an Aston Villa License. It does not have one for many Prem clubs to be fair. But it does for Manchester Utd and Arsenal. As these games are played around the world (USA and Japan in particular) i feel that an Aston Villa license would help to raise our profile worldwide. (Plus it would be more fun for me!) Any ideas on why only certain clubs grant licenses for such products and if we have any plans to give ours to the developers?
I understand that Pro Evo are only allowed 2 licenced teams due to EA's FIFA owning everything.

I think for the rest of the season i'd like to see Mellberg and Laursen - they play well together and i think the midfield would play better knowing they had two experienced centre halves behind them.
That said i think Cahill and Ridgewell look like they could be our first choice pairing in a couple of seasons time (as long as we can keep other lesser teams from trying depserate last minute swoops to pick them up).
The partnership of Cahill and Ridge looks full of promise to me, indeed they seem to play better together than with Mellberg.

Ah, i think i looked at the dirty half!
I had heard the steam cleaning had been done, but thought it looked just the same tbh...

I have not made a formal offer for anyone to be perfectly honest.
Hopefully some INformal conversations have gone on

A big welcome to you General, and Randy to the Villa.
I hope that you are enjoying these times as much as we are.
The measures that you guys have already instigated have made being a Villa fan a true joy once again after a long and difficult time.
The fact that you are taking your time to talk to us across numerous boards speaks volumes.
I know a lot of fans of other teams are looking enviously at our new board and manager - thankyou!!

Ashton would be a great shout, but i think we would struggle to get him. If anything his stock has risen during his injury whilst West Ham have been cack.
He's English to boot which always adds value onto a potential transfer...
In terms of what he could offer the team, well it would be fantastic, and i can't think of many others that could fulfill the target man up front as well as he could.
Maybe with the instability looming at West Ham with a takeover...just maybe we could get him...

Saw this on NewsNow:
Mail demands Villa takeover answers Mar 24 2006
TODAY the Birmingham Mail has again asked Aston Villa to provide answers over the takeover saga.
A demand has been made to Villa chairman Doug Ellis and Michael Neville, the man fronting the Comer brothers' proposed takeover deal, to come clean and tell the fans what is going on.
For the full story see today's Birmingham Mail.

I've just heard the takeover has happened.
oh, my mistake.
are we on a 100 yet?

Do you win a prize if your the first poster on page 100?!

Anyone know if the Comers/Neville have made any statement since the Rothschild announcement?
I seem to remember the last comment mentioned a critical 72 or 48 hours or something?
has this not been qualified since the passing of said time frame?
has it all gone quiet over there?
-
I'm almost seeing the funny side of this now - you have to otherwise you'll do some harm to yourself.
72 hours my arse, come see me in February

Let's see who has the best poker face -
mind you i heard Ellis invented that also, along with the tie break system in tennis.
-
F**k me, if i had an operation i'd take the day off.
He aint human, he's some kind of Steve Austin - maybe all these operations are him being rebuilt bit by bit
-
groan, this is going to trundle on for the rest of the season.
-
man this is depressing. I can't tell if this is Ellis' fault as usual or whether the Comers are not the right guys and (gulp) Ellis is doing the right thing by standing firm.
-
Silent_Bob - that's a sobbering thought, as if January wasn't a sober enough time as it is!
I have a nagging thought at the back of my mind that you could be right...
i could take new owners who don't 'splash' the cash (as Chelsea), as long as they want to take villa on and upwards and invest more than the current regime. I want new owners who are in it for the long term and for Villa's best interests. I hope they prove to be just that
-
man i could chew my own hand off in frustration at this whole process.
one things for sure, if this thing does collapse i'll have just two stumps where my hands were.

Good grief, Walsall is bigger than Bolton.
Thought Nottingham was bigger...
