  1. My first time on photoshop villa duty so please go on easy on me!!

This is based on portugal's away top, I personally think it would be fantastic if we got an away shirt like this, what do you guys think?

    astonvillaawayfantasy.jpg

Nice but I would prefer to see a kit based on Ivory coasts, it has a nice image (ours would be the lion) over the shoulder, only maybe not so tight.

What ever I will not be buying anything if it also has that ridiculous slogan

    'trade forex like a pro'

  2. This is just as important as the Barry saga,

Just like Liverpool last time City are just trying to buy up our team's strengths and damage our efforts to get 4th place next season.

No way should we sell him for any price! unless his head gets turned and he asks to go.

he is much more important to us.

  3. Loved Petrov exploding into the box like a bullet train for the equalizer.

The officiating was dreadful IMO. Inconsistent the whole way through.

Palace's first goal, the linesman didn't give a **** when the ball was way outside the quadrant, but when Young placed it on the edge, the linesman wanted it further back.

Also both offside calls against Delph(when he was through on goal) and Delfouneso were so obviously incorrect, that linesman really ought to be sacked.

Delph's yellow card and the subsequent free-kick given to Palace was another baffling decision.

Shit refereeing. But our performance didn't help either.

    Totally agree.

MON was very lucky we got an equalizer because his squad selection was unbelievably poor.

We literally played without a striker until the last 15 minutes so it was a complete waste of the first 75 minutes playing Heskey.

If Delph and Carew were on from the start we may have been in front early and possibly comfortable enough to be able to rest some players

  4. It will all come together soon..

MON is bringing the youngsters through, we will have a significant number of players in their national sides for the next WC. I still have faith that our talented team of players will connect and do well this season.

    five years.. be patient.

  5. In no particular order;

    Perfume - patrick suskind

    any Iain (M) banks

    The Beach - alex garland

fall of Hyperion, Ilium, Olympos - Dan Simmons /sf

    Idoru - william gibson /sf

    any terry pratchet

    any ian McEwan

    Kitchen Confidential - allain bourdain

other good authors include, jon courtney-grimwood /sf, howard marks /biog, neal asher /sf,

    mary doria-russel, annie proulx

  6. I'd have a word with my boss as I'm only doing what he tells me, which is why I have improved so much that I'm getting picked for my country.

You decide to buy a Lamborghini, some vile green boots (because you can)

You're not the prettiest person around, but your money can get you laid easily, and your seed is as fast as you are, getting 3 different girls pregnant.

WTF has this got to do with anything?

  7. Randy will support MON...simple as that. Let's face it; MON is in the best position to know what he needs for his Squad (now and for the future). He has scouts that also know what he wants and are out there doing their jobs. He knows he has an owner that will support him.

Peter, this has been said by all at villa repeatedly. Granted that it doesn't go into the specific details of how they will support MON but it does mean we as fans are expexted to support MON also. Picking holes in the board's / MON's statements and how they go about thier job's is exactly the opposite of support in my opinion.

You've got your answer from the General which quite frankly shows a great attitude from the club by attempting to quell our fears and doubts, but you can't expect complete transparency in everything they do, its not like the old days.

We must Trust them to do their jobs now.

  8. The way i see it if we can get a large sum of money for a sponsor to put their name before Villa Park then im cool with that. For Example if we had MBNA as our stadium and shirt sponsonrs then most likely the ground would be known as, The MBNA Villa Park. For me this wouldnt be a problem as it would still be known by the fans as Villa Park but more importantly it will still be referred to as JUST Villa Park by the media also IMO. Combine that with a hefty amount of sponsorship money and a shirt sponsorship also then i think its a win win situation.

Totally agree, except so what if the media called it MBNA Villa Park.

Good sponsorship will allow us to have pride in our club once more.

I would be happy to asscoiate myself / my team with a company who was funding the club (ethicaly).

We have all dreamed of a future with investment and success, don't be afriad of change.

  9. There can be only one main reason why O'Neill became manager yesterday and that is that Ellis is going. In my opinion, how he is going to go is another question. Ellis may want to sell his shares but they make up less than 40%. Any buyer that wants total control would want more than 50% as a minimum before committing 1 cent (no significance!) to an investment, the rest could come later. Serious (business people) buyers will leave nothing to chance.

The delay to any deal may be that the next major shareholder has been reluctant to sell, hence the backdoor bankrolling of the Neville 'bid'. An earlier poster said that Doug looked very well yesterday, well, I would not like you to be my doctor! The man looked drawn and haggered to me, no doubt due to his ill health over the last 12-18 months.

Does anyone else draw the same conclusion? did i read some where that jack petchley was to finance neville's bid?

  10. Neville wants to join with PAdfield's AV06 consortium to table a bid for the club. Here is what was said by Padfield on BBC Radio 5 tonight.

"The latest state of play is we have been approached by representatives from other consortia who have already put their hats in the ring. One is a representative of Mr Neville.

"We are considering opening discussions with them but haven't taken a firm decision.

"Nothing is going to happen until I return (from holiday) at the end of the week.

"We haven't had serious discussions yet but an approach has been made to me and certainly I'm quite happy to arrange a meeting when I get back."

"One of the crucial issues is the extent to which Doug Ellis wants to retain a stake in the club or whether he is prepared to sell his entire shareholding.

What the F**K is doug upto? does this mean he wont sell ALL his shares?

Even when all this is over will he still sit on the board because he has shares?

Is this where all the problems with are stemming from?
