The unique relationship we as Villa fans have/had with Smith will not be replicated in the next manager appointment. So whoever the next manager is will get my support .........

Getting theres one thing, staying theres another. Its understandable why people would question his appointment.
Hence my point let's get there first!

I want us to get back to the premier league as soon as possible and if Bruce, given his credentials, is the most likely to manage it then so be it. Once we're there, then we can look at who is best for the club long term, whether it's Bruce or someone else.

Just go get HUGHES............

Hmmn well obviously this is gonna get some intense reactions etc but trying to just look at the real picture for a moment the guy has won plenty of silverware including performing the impossible in getting SHA a cup. Ok they of course got relegated bla bla bla & played very defensive football.
The thing is he said himself he had to play that style due to the strengths of his team being defensive though ideally he would like to play a more attacking style if he had the players to do so.
Also you have got to admit he has a pair of balls the size of pillows to quit & in the same breath say he would like the Villa job... That for me is what we have needed for years.. a pair of balls at the club to lead us & many on here have said we needed a strong manager... Well he is certainly that although it would be easy to allow the whiff of sha to cloud ones judgement i appreciate
If he came i would applaud his courage & the boards for that matter & support their decision.
agreed. If it happens then I'm prepared to give a chance. And he can bring Foster with him!

General,
I'd like to echo Mark's sentiments, alot of fans on here have had alot to say about club communications but Lee Preece and Nicole Keye are a huge credit to our club.

I would add Sheila Maybury to those mentioned above. Always extremely helpful regarding ticket issues for disabled supporters.

I thinks we should be doing we can to get Sam Allardyce from Blackburn, pay them compensation and lets's get him. I don't think he was given much chance at Newcastle and given that he can work with minimal resources (though i do feel Lerner will give the next manager full financial backing) I feel he's the man to take us forward.
I don't. We are not in the sort of mess that requires Big Sam. No thank you.
If we aren't careful we could be! And that's my greatest fear. Sam could stabilise (sp?) us with the existing squad, then take us forward.

Briggaman - I'm not talking about the article in any of the rags - I'm talking about the clear difference between the statement made after the meeting with Milner from the club, and what was said by O'Neill last week. There's a huge difference between the two.
Agreed!

MON is stubborn and known to fall out with players.
Milner has overnight turned into a scumbag.... apparently.
Why would Milner be angered that MON has said he wants to leave. There is no reason for that other than he might have changed his mind.
Perhaps he cannot get in touch with MON and MON has decided you said you wanted to leave thats it. I could easily imagine MON being that stubborn, L Young was dropped (for a season almost) for complaining about playing left back for gods sake!
Something fishy going on and its certainly not all down to Milner, MON can do no wrong.
Nobody really knows what the hell is going on.
Fully agree with this. I feel both parties are to blame here. I really like MON but do have to question certain aspects of his man management skills given how he appears to have fallen out with a number of players in the last couple of season.

Assuming Dunne arrives I would play the following team away from home (4-5-1):
Friedal
L. Young
Cuellar
Dunne
Warnock
Milner
Reo-Coker
Petrov
Sidwell
A. Young
Carew or Agbonlahor (can't decide between them)
At home I would play 4-4-2:
Same as above except drop Petrov and add either Carew or Agbonlahor

Really wanted him to stay but not anymore! Yes i know his head hs been turned but he hasn't helped himself either with his 'dummy out the pram' tantrums. Sad to say but I really do hope Liverpool can still come up with the £18M.

6. We are already working on the preliminary drawings for the North Stand and North end of Villa Park. My sense is that we are 3 years away.
Hi General
I think this would be a great opportunity to include more wheelchair spaces in the new design (minimum of at least another 50 spaces). As a wheelchair user I am unable to attend every match of my choice because of the limited wheelchair spaces at Villa Park. People at the ticket office tell me that there is considerable demand for disabled fans wanting to attend but unfortunately they have to turn people away.
Can you please confirm whether or not the new design will include additional wheelchair spaces? I am more than happy to provide an input into the re-design of the North Stand.
Many thanks.

Hi General
Many thanks for what you and Mr Learner have done at Villa since last August and long may it continue (I've already had the pleasure of meeting you during one of our matches last season!).
As another wheelchair user I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiments conveyed by Phil re the wheelchair users allocation at Villa Park. I have been attending matches at Villa Park since 1979 and for many seasons was a Disabled Season Ticket holder. However, I moved away from the area in the 1990's which meant I couldn't attend all of the matches. I have still managed to get to about 8 or 9 matches a season but in recent years it has become increasingly difficult to get individual match tickets due to the high demand for tickets in the wheelchair areas.
I have to say the Villa staff I have dealt with in recent seasons re match tickets (Linda Jones, Sheila Maybury and Lee Preece) have always been very helpful in trying to accommodate me but it has become difficult for them also because of the limited wheelchair spaces. Please pass on my thanks to them for their helpfulness.
General, can i suggest that the club reviews the situation regarding the number of places available to wheelchair users (and p.a's) with the aim of identifying other possible areas for wheelchair users within the ground (e.g. maybe the first row in the Lower North Stand which could be accessed via the tunnel?).
As a Consultant on Disability Issues I am more than happy to offer any assistance regarding this matter if required (free of course.......(because of my love of Villa!)).
Regards
Sid

I think Robbie Earnshaw would be a good shout for Villa. He's always had a good scoring record wherever he's been.
