  1. I can't believe you're considering asking for a refund. OK, we haven't quite made all the signings the fans want, yet.

Why don't you just ask for them to change it to a Man City season ticket? Happy then?

  2. I'm not sure the Ferraris time should count... is it strictly a road car?

Ye, don't they go by whether it can go over a speed bump? That front end was very low.

  3. Hi Guys, hoping for some expert advice. Believe it or not I used to be quite the runner, at my peak 16,17, 18 I would generally always win the middle distance runs at school which included the teachers and the lads who were signed totop football clubs. Sadly now mainly thanks to rubbish knees I've piled on the pounds. I really fancy getting back into some cross country running and think the best motivation would be to be able to measure accurately how far I run each time. Now I know Garmin do some GPS watches and theres the Nike+ Ipod thing (I have a gen1 Ipod touch and think it doesn't work on that). Are there any other options for recording and plotting my runs digitally (cheaper?).

map my run is pretty good. Gives you a graph with altitude and stuff. You can also search for runs in your area that other people have uploaded. I've only managed to get it to follow roads though, so I don't think its useful for canals, parks etc.

You can turn on the satellite view, like in Google Earth, etc.

Cheers, but will it work on my ipod touch 1st gen?

I don't think they do applications for ipods. What I do is just time myself and map the run on the comp before hand. From that you can work out your average speed over the whole run. On from that I suppose you could do time splits every mile or so by knowing where the mile marks are and just pressing a button on your watch as you go through.

At a recent stag do at Tan Hill, the highest pub in the country. 5 pints in and the tent had just been pitched in adverse weather conditions, only for it to brighten up immediately.

I was there at Easter, blimey the people who run that place are mad! Those Everest windows are good though

How long did it take for the tent to blow away? :D

  6. Shiiiiiiiiit!

I thought I needed something to aim for to keep me motivated, so I've signed up for a relay race around the island at the end of June. It's 90 miles, split between teams of 10, so about 9-10 miles each on average. I bought myself some decentish trainers, and did my first run last night. I managed about a mile and a half of a slow jog without stopping before my legs ached, I was out of breath and had to walk home. This morning I felt like my legs had been encased in concrete.

I'm starting to think this was a bad idea. How many times a week is a slightly overweight, extremely unfit 37 year old going to have to run before it starts to hurt less.

PS any tips on stretching warming up greatly appreciated.

I was pretty much exactly like that about February (although slightly younger). Got to just over a mile before I had to stop. Now i'm running 3-4 miles at a time 3 times a week and actually enjoying it. Don't do the same run all the time as it isn't good for your overall running. However in a couple of weeks jog the same route and see just how much better you feel at the same point! That's when you know your making progress.

  7. So, last night, I mapped out a route on mapmyrun.com (try it BTW, it's brilliant)

Wow that looks a really good site, loads of good runs on there for my area.

When i run the most painful thing is my feet. I know everyone says get some specialist fitted shoes but I just went for Asics. My feet are a bit smaller than 11 so I thought 10.5 would fit great. When i get back after about 2.8 miles the first thing i think about is kicking my shoes off. Is it normal or should i get some new shoes?

  8. Soooooo slightly off as im on about the Ipod Touch BUT.

Im going to florida and saw the ted baker portable charger by Proporta on ebay for £10. It says it charges Ipods. WICKED> that 9hr flight will fly by with me watching movies on my itouch.

So it turns up today. Charge it, plug it into my phone. Works. Plug it into my 30GB old Pod. SORTED. New itouch. Nothing. Zip.

    ARGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH

So got to send it back and start looking again! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Who you flying with. I flew over to the states the other week with Continental and they had a really good an expansive on demand films/games/TV shows for every seat. I wouldn't worry too much about your touch, it'll fly by.

  9. We've had gay threads before, any WWF thread is blatantly gay. It's just an excuse to put pictures of men in leotards up, it's like the lovely ladies thread for the gays. Come on any grown man who watches that must be a bit.........

O dear, they're going to hunt you down now!
