His a bit like Gayle in palace but a bit more to offer. More skillful and faster with great finishing just look at his match against us. Bradford have the perfect partnership with Hanson the target man and Wells the player running for the headers. Benteke inform and Wells alongside could hurt a lot of defences..
Gayle is better. No way is Wells faster.

Lambert has talked to Lerner about reinforcing #avfc. 'We don't just talk about the weather. In an ideal world, I'd love to get players in.'"

No fan should want relegation in any way.

Nick Powell is injured. And was also linked to a loan move to Peterborough, which although isn't happening, shows where Villa are in the market for new players.

Rumours suggesting Aston Villa have made an approach for Lyon and France striker Bafetimbi Gomis. #AVFC

A bit meh really. A couple of good cup runs maybe and top half finish at best is what we are looking at.
As opposed to...?

Here's another left field stab in the dark
Darren Ferguson
Presumably he would have THE letter too!!
Leave him where he is please :winkold: (username...)
In all seriousness, it amuses me that people like Grayson, Clark on Poyet are linked and Fergie Jnr isn't. He's had less money than all of them and Posh have been playing the best football I've ever seen at London Road. It has been miles better than anything Villa served up in the last 12 months. I suppose his time at PNE counts against him, but he was clearly messed around by the board there - they've hardly come back strongly since he left.
When he's been linked to Premiership jobs in the past he has said something along the lines that at that level tactics don't come into it, it's just all about motivation.
Not sure I totally agree with that...

I'd rate Poyet as bottom of all the young managers. What has he achieved? If he was any good he would have at least made the playoffs as he had plenty of financial support.
Also he was shite when involved at Leeds.
I think that's a bit harsh on him. Brighton have only had that ground a year. It's been hard for them to build a team whilst playing at the athletics track. I would've thought regardless of whether he is there or not next season Brighton will be challenging towards the top of the division. Ok, Southampton did well, but the jump from League 1 to The CHampionship is a lot bigger than people think.

Hearing that Rafa Benitez has been approached, doesn't fit the criteria though so I'm not entirely convinced. #avfc

Ok, I'm sticking my neck out here.. But here goes.
Do not lock this thread yet.
Amazing.
No dig at all, just...well...I'm not sure many of us can carry on like this for much longer!

Oh dear. We all look a little silly now.

I thought there was talk of Randy being at the press conference this time? Announcement Monday, Randy flying back for Press conference later in the week?

Rbnett:
Ole Gunnar is not on the training field on Lubbers where the rest of the coaching team has arrived.

Welcome Ole.
Not yet.

Excellent

I really want to see OGS here - he's obviously another excellent product of the so-called 'Fergie School of Tactics' and that's encouraging. If he is anything like Gary Neville in terms of tactical understanding he gets my vote.
My only slight concern is that he will be another short-term manager. He either does really poorly and is sacked/driven out of the club and seen as 'not ready' for Premier League management (similar to how Paul Ince went), or he is a success here, Fergie retires and he goes to United.
Don't get me wrong, any success is good success, but Villa need stability too!
He'd have to a fantastic job in 2-3 years to be considered for the Man UTd job. You're talking us qualifying for the Champions League for him to be considered I would think. If he took us to two 10th places he wouldn't be an option for Man Utd. Lambert could come in and do brilliantly and end up being poached by a bigger club. Either way, if it happened it would mean that we were in a good position.

Can this -
- appear at the top of every page so that everyone can watch it?! -
dad, im gay.
Yeah, a little bit this...
-
Long time lurker but just watching that documentary.
Man, if he doesn't become our manager now I'm going to be REALLY disappointed. A must watch.

Posh won't be fielding their strongest side either as around 5-6 of our players have flu...

Not sure if this is related, but on my iPhone I was able to use the app fine up until three days ago. Now no threads are shown at all. When I go to browse I just see the circle loader animation. Nothing ever appears.
I've cleared cache, uninstalled and re-installed and the problem remains.
Sorry if this is in the wrong thread.
