Good stuff Mancini_ He helped them to promotion didn't he? Is that right?
What's the Hungarian league like? Fast or slow, physical etc?
Yep, they won promotion after years of struggling in the second division, following a controversial exclusion from the first league. A club who never got relegated on the pitch, playing every season in the top flight before. "Fradi" is the most popular club in Hungary (two-time WC silver medalist, let's not forget), and has a great history, being the record champion and cup winner of the country, and winner of the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup (predecessor to the UEFA Cup) in 1965.
On the other hand, nowadays Hungarian football is just about to wake up after like 25 years of sleep... The last bit of success came in 1985 when Videoton lost the UEFA Cup final to Real Madrid, but since... Only two teams reached the Champions League group phase (Fradi in 1995 and Debrecen in 2009), so it's not that sharp really.
One who you may know, Zoltán Gera was a big star for Fradi, who signed for West Brom a few years ago, and had a part in Fulham's run in the Europa League two years ago.
These days the Hungarian league is a bit slow paced but the players are physically OK, and are good on the ball.

I like the look of him, young, comfortable on the ball and versatile. I think he'll be a great addition to the squad at the very least. From his interview on AVTV he seems to have confidence in his own ability, which is of course a good thing. Seems to be an attack minded player. Looking forward to seeing him play
And of course he has the maverick quality of experience in the Hungarian league
I saw him playing for Ferencváros in the flesh. He was playing well, though I hope he has improved since.

I hope he won't take Sidwell back...
-
Not my money so I really don't care how much we are paying for him just GET HIM as soon as possible!!
-
That means that Heskey will get sold as well!!
(Just kidding ofc.)
((But you never know...))

Just read that Milner didn't get off the team bus and is not in squad for today's game. Even if he wasn't playing you would have thought he be there to watch the game.
Let the speculation start once more...
Where did you hear that?
Squad for tonight's game, from the OS live chat:
Guzan, Dunne, Cuellar, Warnock, Downing, Young, Albrighton, Petrov, Reo-Coker, Beye, Agbonlahor.
Subs: Friedel, Bannan, Davies, Lichaj, Clark, Sidwell, Shorey, Carew, Delfouneso, Heskey.
No Milner.
-
What about the likes of Osbourne, Beye or Salifou...
The are seemingly out of contention. Will they go?
And what about the reserve ones like Herd, Hogg, Parish, Lowry, Baker or O'Halloran?
Can they make the step up? Or will they be sold/released soon?

Sidwell is an athlete with a good attitude and reasonable technique, but who would he replace? Barry is better on the ball and Gardner will score more goals from centre midfield. Petrov could be excellent for us if he settles and gets really fit in the same way that Bouma did.
So is Sidwell good enough, or should we be looking even higher?
38 league matches+ FA Cup, Carling Cup matches

Chelsea scouting director Frank Arnesen watched Celtic forward Shaun Maloney in action against Benfica this week.
so he won't come here
then go for mcgeady
You know, that might just be the test case that forces people to sit up and take notice of Villa. Yes, most players would currently still choose Chelsea over us. But if Maloney is one of MON's "babbies" he might just decide to come to us instead. I'd *love* to see Chelsea go in for him and then lose out to us. Could happen.

I reckon Joey Barton would be a good signing, what does everyone else think? A proper person to challenge Gav.
probably around 5m
who would you prefer Barton or Nolan ?
both of them
-
aiden mcgeady anyone?
he might cost a few quid though
-
What about that Leighton Baines from Wigan? With that shot he could replace Hitz.
yep, and he's going to be in the England squad instead of Barry...
