I think Lerner put his bid in expecting something from others (more bids) I would think the fact he put his bid in shows he is confident he can win and will win. Other bids etc was to be expected today I think.

Thanks Simon. Top man. Initially at least £20/30 million which will be spent fron now and Jan. But the important thing is that there will be a constant annual budget for players which will allow the club to build properly with quality YOUNG players not players past.

I am not Randy Lerner, you know who I am now and I am not in his league!!! MON will have plenty to spend.... PLENTY! He must of course spend it wisely. Wander if Gareth Barry still wants to leave or Milan Baros....... This will be a whole new challenge to MON. He has never had this sort of money at his disposal before.

The size of Ellis' ego and the buyer wanting him on side IMO means a bid will not be made unless he is at the club to call a press conference and tell everyone about it and how much it is for and how much the new owner has guaranteed to spend on players, as well as ELlis boasting about the fact they've kept him on as Club President because of al of his years of football knowledge!

I've gone for Lerner purely because of a) the way he's gone about his business and what the Browns fans have said about his style of ownership

As much as I would love to know what is happening, unfortunately I doubt we will get any news from today for a while afterwards if it is to do with the takeover. I expect tomorrow or Weds at the earliest. I would love to be proved wrong though.
