  1. I really want to see Smith succeed... But the job is looking to be too big for him with no real plan B...

There will be the argument we got promoted a year too early and theat maybe so but if we go down we'll be a year behind...

Something needs to change, to push on we need to stay up.  Today was dreadful, just no real desire to press and win the ball, to play this way you need to do that.

  2. Today's result should make no difference to the decision to keep or dismiss him.  The board already have a big enough sample size, and surely as we can see he has no idea how to get us out of the situation, or utilise the 14 players that he has signed despite no backing due to FFP .

If i was a betting man then i'd suggest he's angling to be dismissed, like most modern managers.  Payoff over personal pride.

The mass hysteria comment is nonsense, we are fans of the club of the large majority sink money in to the club either through merchandise or attending games., we have a right to voice our opinion.  Ultimately its up to the Dr whether he makes that decision. i suspect that as people are still turning up regularly, they are not bothered about whether the football is dog shit. If attendances drop and/or the results continue to drive us further away from the promotion spots, then they'll have no choice but to dismiss.

In my opinion that is too late and is a massive risk if we are close to the FFP limits.

  3. Over a 1000 pages of Steve Bruce... Was hoping he'd be gone by the time there was this many.

IF the reports are true that we've contacted Garcia, then hopefully he'll be gone after the weekend.

  4. I can't believe anyone would genuinely  want us to lose to make sure he gets the chop.  that just seems odd, any decision to dismiss should be made on his full record with us and not one result.   That said his record so far isn't great and the style of football atrocious.

That said i have no faith that the above is the case with Wyness and crew.

I think Bruce sets up up not to lose tonight in the hope that he steals a 1-0 win and saves his job.

IMO he should be dismissed regardless of tonight's result.

  5.  Poor management throwing the young players under the bus.

He's just trying to protect his "reputation" i'm sure there will plenty of his media mates backing him up over the next few days.

I couldn't agree more. To not have been planning for the future would be a dereliction of duty.

I know its not what @Latz was saying, but i have read, and heard (at yesterdays game) people saying 'Bruce is sh#t but we may aswell keep him because who would we replace him with'

That to me is a ridiculous attitude to have.

I have heard and read the same and that's definitely not a reason to keep him.  I would also hope that they already have an eye on a replacement should they drop the axe.

Thats like worrying about the aftermath of an operation to remove cancer.

Bruce is slowly killing any chance of promotion. Lets deal with the immediate danger and then worry about his replacement.

Indeed, i just have no faith in Wyness being able to select the right manager.

  8. We need to appoint someone who understands modern football and has a philosophy that doesn't include sitting in your own half at home.

I'd try and convince Thomas Tuchel currently out of work but probably also out of our league.  I dread the thought of Round and Wyness picking a new manager.

  9. It hasn't worked out and its time for a change, i can't really see that there has been any improvement over the 40 odd games he has been here.

We don't have any plan other than to play not to lose and that is down to the manager.  He has arguably the best squad in the league and we still set up negatively at home against supposed smaller clubs.

My fear is that if we get rid, the replacement could be worse.

i have no faith that we get it right and we will go for the tried and tested ilk of Moyes et al

  10. If HairyHands is brave enough to come on here tonight (though seeing he isn't exactly good at dealing with criticism on Lambert) I'd be interested to know his thoughts on Ian Culverhouse verbally abusing Villa fans today.

Is that true about Culverhouse ? unbelieveable if it is.

  11. Really positive about what Lambert is trying to do, if he has a similar success rate over the next few years with his transfers then i think we can get quite excited about the future.

  12. Looks like he has a lot of potential still quite inexperienced, upgrade over Clark.  Glad were looking at players with potential who have something to prove, really hope this one goes through.
