  1. I was going to rate everyone in the team but found myself giving out the response 'meh' for almost everyone, so I'm just going to rate the better players.

Guzan - 6 Did well tbf, was worried when he came on

Hutton - 6 Best performance for us to date.

Heskey -1 I'm not really into Heskey bashing but.....

The worst part of it all is that 0 -1 would have been a decent result had the performance been anywhere near a good standard.

  2. Surely, AMc recognises that we need creativity.

N'Zogbia as of yet isn't delivering but isn't getting the game time he needs currently. His decision making was better today even though the final ball wasn't good.

Gabby is doing really well for a striker come winger.

Bannan needs to play a bigger part in the team, it's no coincidence that we play much better when he comes on.

Jenas should be used in rotation with Bazza.

Albrighton should be used to replace Zoggy if he has a stinker.

  3. Given 7 - Fair props, don't think many of us would have played after hearing a close friend had died two hours before KO.

Hutton 4 - Dodgy tackles all over

Dunne 6 - Not bad at all

Collins 5 - Better than last week (thank ****)

    Warnock 6 - Solid

Herd 5 - Not his best, but still fairly solid

Delph 4 - Poor tackling, surprised he was still on the pitch at the end of it all. Still have a bit of faith.

N'Zogbia 6 - Better, struggling with the final ball still

Gabby 7 - In the form of his life

Heskey 4 - Meh. I don't usually beat down on Heskey but he really didn't add much today.

Bent 5 - Could have been better, but so could have the service.

  4. not spending in Jan for us is just not an option.

I really cannot see us spending in January, Enda Stevens is already signed. Doubt a CM will be signed, nor a CB, possibly a winger? Doubtful considering N'Zogbia was only bought in the summer.

  5. ------------ Given -------------

    Hutton - Dunne - Clark - Warnock

    ------------- Herd -------------

    --------Petrov ---Jenas --------

    N'Zogbia---------------Agbonlahor

    --------------Bent-------------

Subs: Guzan, Collins, Cueller, Ireland, Delph, Albrighton, Fonz.

Yes I know how gash Hutton is but King Carlos won't be 100% yet. Enough changes to stir up a response from those that are dropped but enough stability to not collapse at the first bit of pressure. Zog will need to track back.

We cannot afford to be over run by Swansea in Midfield on Sunday.

  6. We've got McLeish for the foreseeable future unfortunately that's just a reality we need to accept. To do anything else will send us down a slippery slope like Blackburn are free falling down.

The team selection last night was bizarre, the performance was abysmal and has exposed the gulf in class of our Midfield and Defense that many of us have highlighted before against the 'smaller' teams. More worrying than anything for me is the lack of determination, passion and fight in any part of the team, the majority of the team out there last night seemed resigned to losing, our heads dropped. Herd, Gabby and Bannan being the exceptions.

It's like having half of your team is Stephen Ireland. I don't know how you can change that mentality, I'm no man management expert (and neither is AMc by the looks of it) my only idea is to make some competition for places more fierce, most likely bringing through the youth to challenge for places as our squad is so small.

Clark, Bannan, Herd and Cueller need to be challenging the Collins and Huttons and other poor performers in our squad to raise their game and improve their attitude.

I think it's quite telling in the AVTV interview with AMc after last nights match how clearly annoyed he is with some of the players attitudes, no heart on show at all.

  7. Long ball from Given with Heskey as Target man was pretty awful today, far too predictable and a large proportion of the time lost of us possession. We cannot afford to do that against the better teams in the league.

Given 6 - Did well but distribution was poor especially in counter attacking scenarios

Warnock 5 - Didn't look all that confident, but just about survived without making any major **** ups.

Dunne 7 - In great form

    Collins 5 - Did ok

Hutton 5 - One of his better games this season, decent going forward. Yet to be convinced

NZogbia 6 - Getting better but seemed selfish, needs to play the ball into the box more, instead of trying to skin 4 players and have a pop himself.

Herd 8 - He was a cool head in the first half when we were under pressure, impressed me again.

Petrov 7 - Stan's playing well, fair play to the guy. I've never been his biggest fan but with Herd holding, he seems to play better.

Heskey 6 - Standard Heskey, solid shift nothing spectacular.

    Gabby 9 - Brilliant.

Bent 7 - Getting more goals thanks to a little bit more cohesion with the team

    Subs:

Jenas 6 - Difficult to judge but looked up for it.

Ireland 4 - Didn't look bothered again, especially when the team needed help defensively.

  8. Alan Hutton once more was a **** liability today. Zoggy was ineffective. Heads dropped second half.

Can't judge the Herd incident very difficult to see what happened. Herd didn't protest but neither did Olsson shout? There appeared to be some kinda of malicious looking flick of his leg towards the chest, if that is what happened I back the officials but I just can't tell.

Can't pin this on AMc. Sorry.

  9. nowhere near as good as luke young. In fact i'd rather give Beye ago right now

Not going to happen, he's just been signed can't see McLeish dropping him so soon, it would be like an admission of defeat.
