There is as much susbstance in the transfer window conspiracy as in thet MON waiting until Hughes had a job IMO.

And you can consider the NOWT interview to be his transfer request.

This is the whole point though, surely isn't it? If he really feels his career is suffering and his desperation to leave is soooo great, why hasn't he handed in a written transfer request. This would bring the whole matter to a swift conclusion, as we wouldn't then have to pay off his contract, and thus could negatiate a lower fee with Liverpool.

However, this would cost him (and his agent) in the region of £3million, so it would appear that his greed has a higher priority in his mind than his ambition.
