yeah we definately need a song for downing

Do us fans really need to compare Downing and Young. They are both great players and if we lost either one it would be a blow. And like an article i read last week we need to stop focusing on their inabilities and look at what they can do and what Young and Downing can do they do it brilliantly so stop comparing support them both and get behind the team! UTV

Why on earth did Houllier decide to bring on Downing/Young after the game was dead and buried it was a ridiculous decision plus risking an injury to either which is the last thing we want

i'm sure there is people who will just say Downing is crap because others are, he is a LEFT winger of course his final balls aren't going to be as great on the right as on the left

i don't get it, i didn't watch the match tonight as i was busy but about 3/4 of fans are saying downing was abysmal and the other 1/4 saying hes outstanding :? was he actually good in some parts or are people taking the mickey...

I think it's time that Houllier left, 3 league wins since September simply isn't good enough. His tactics are completely silly and its costing us games, the players are losing form and the players can be at fault for that but this year we lost one major player (Milner) and we have basically the same team as last year and we have gone from being in Europe also possible Champions League threats to relegation candidates, it isn't looking good.

Gabby should never play on the wing, should of been him and carew up front (apart from the fact Carew was useless) and Downing on the left and Alby on the right

don't know why heskeys getting the most votes, he missed a howler and shouldn't of got himself sent off for stupidly hitting out

i don't get why people think Downing may be tired, the season he got injured and the season before when he was at Middlesbrough, he started almost every game for those two seasons until he got injured and it never affected him and never looks tired

Downing does have family in the north east so people are obviously going to see him out and about.

i really wanted to go to this game because its close to were i live but i haven't been to a home or away game so it hasn't been on general sale is there a possibility that i could still go?

downing done some really poor passes/crosses tonight but he seemed to be the only one on the pitch trying! defense was absolutely shocking
