I met him at ladies day at aintree this year. He seemed a really nice bloke and is alot taller than you think. Would be chuffed if we signed him.

Anyone hear the Tom Ross interview on BRMB this morning?
He seems certain McLeish will at least speak to Villa although the Blues board will not allow him to speak to anyone.
Lets hope he is wrong as per usual
So let me get this right, you are saying Ross is reporting he is certain to speak to us but at the same time won't be allowed to do so?
I'd say there is a fair chance of Ross being wrong there as its impossible for him to be correct on both counts.
I presume he means McLeish will speak to the Villa however the Blues will do everything they can to get money from it as they havent accepted his resignation.

The general was in the lower holte today and the guy infront of me asked if we are getting a new manager and he said yes. He seemed very open about it.
You're either on a wind-up or the General must have misheard the question. I sincerely doubt that he'd spill the beans before any official statement is out, and "The Scot" apparently saying GH will be the manager for next season.
I've got no reason for lie, I asked the bloke infront of me around 15 seconds after speaking to him if that was the general? And what did he say. I'm pro houllier and I'd like to see him given a chance.

They need the points more than we do. This may play in our favour if we are looking to counter attack

I'll be interested to see how Blues do in the Europa League next season.
The extra games will have a big strain on their small squad. Expect a few arrivals

I just hope we get behind the team tonight, none of this booing at half time or when the ball goes back to Friedel.
Tonight is all about the result, whether we score and win one nil with our only chance of the game so be it. Im no expert but surely the team can play with alot more freedom and they can "express" themselves when you are sat in 13th in the league rather than 17th.
Sunderland will be no mugs with or without Gyan and god forbid we go a goal down we must not get on the teams back.
IN GERARD WE TRUST

I could accept if Liverpool had to work for their results but I cant accept:
Players putting their hands up for offside and making half hearted tackles.
Centre halves not being to pass 5 yards without the receiver having to stretch.
Centre forwards pulling players back instead of getting infront of the defenders.
Midfielders feeling the need to pass backwards rather than pass and move.
We made Ngog and Babel look like Messi and Drogba.
Proper gutted!!!!!

The Octupus (google "Blackpool Octupus") claims we'll loose the match (the away team will win!)
Olly (the octupus) has got every result right so far.
Dont worry Im having calamari tonight !! Bet he didnt predict that

I think we need to be patient and not get on the teams back. They will favour a high tempoed game so all going all out may not be the answer. This will be a game about keeping the ball on the deck and controlling it from the middle of the park through Clark and Bannan. Id snap your hand off for a scrappy 1-0 now

I'm probably going to be wrong here but I think Houllier will get it completely wrong if he plays Albrighton.
going against Ashley Cole arguably the best defensive and one of the best offensive full backs in the world would be suicide.
I think I'd play Downing on the right, very experienced and never really let's his man go past him. Also, Downing isn't a player who looks to go past people so it's not as if he's going to lose out the attacking battle either as he will drift inside.
I'd go:
Friedel
Young Cuellar Collins Warnock
Petrov Reo-Coker
Downing Ireland Young
Heskey.
let Ireland just sit on Mikel the whole game. That guy picks up every loose ball and is always the man who starts the play off for Chelsea as soon as they win it back, he usually gets on the ball and quickly uses it.
Young can get whoever is right back for Chelsea while Heskey will show Drogba who the real perfect number 9 is
Some good thoughts there, I'd go with that.
I would totally agree with that although I cant see Cuellar coming back in

I can see our midfield being
Young - NRC - Ireland - Petrov - Downing
against Spurs and Chelsea, with Albrighton dropping to bench.
Agreed
This seems like the obvious choice, but with Houllier we can't guess our squad as easily as we used to!
I do think this is our best midfield, with Albrighton getting experience in the late stages of the game and giving us a fresh attacking threat for the lat 30 minutes.
And who said we need any new midfielders? ha I am quite excited by that midfield. Width, creativity and hard work

Is it that smoke in the left hand corner? all he needs now is a gun and we will have a proper movie poster
-
I might give Broad Street a miss after the game then
-
Apologises if this has been mentioned already but how did Petrov foul Pennant in the build up to their second goal? he didnt even put his leg out so how on earth did he foul him.

does anyone live near BMH? if I lived a few mins away i'd be down there telling that bloke to stop bad mouthing us villa fans just because you can't deal with the fact your hair is soooo ginger that if you stood at the top of the white cliffs of dover at night you'd help ships avoid running a ground.
Love it!!!
