He’d done 5 fouls before he was even booked for diving. That dive should’ve been his second.

Was farcical, if was a Villa player be an early booking

Double standards is too common in Premier League

He committed two fouls in as many minutes early in the first half and was lucky not to get booked for that, he makes more fouls after his dive with those two early fouls already in the bank, should have been sent off. I felt like after what appeared to be a VAR **** up for Firmino's goal that the officials were determined to even it out.

Would have been ludicrous if he was booked after either of those tbh.

Either but not both.

Nah, 2 nothing fouls shouldn’t result in a yellow card. By all means, an accumulation of them (say, 4) but not those 2. The game shouldn’t head that way.

I didn’t watch the rest of the match (my daughters birthday, terrible timing) so if he carried on fouling after the dive too then a second yellow, sure.

Bournemouth crying about snarky comments from Jon Moss. Bournemouth must be the worst team for diving, kicking the ball and whinging. He probably just sick of them

Refs stick together through stuff like this. Good for us if refs start giving Bournemouth a hard time

Ex Russia captain Roman Shirokov attacked a referee for not giving him a penalty in a charity game 🙄

Punched him in the face and then kicked him while he laying on the ground

Referees in the PL get paid £42k basic for the season, plus appearance fees per match they referee, taking their overall salary for the year to around £60k.

Should they get paid more to attract better talent, and also to reduce chance of bribery.

Even if they were paid £100k basic plus roughly another £100k based on appearances, for the PL that is peanuts.

But they might get the best referees from round the world.
