Not an excuse for our indiscipline when we got it back to 24 each, but the ref gave them 14 points. Disgraceful from the official.

However the results against Scotland and now Wales have been coming for 18 months. Time for Eddie to go after the six nations. Time for some of the players to be moved out of the squad to make room for some seriously exciting talent.

You might argue that we won the last six nations and the 'competition' at the end of the year, but we've always been far from convincing.

I've changed my mind on the second try - good decision. The ball didn't go forward, the ball goes backwards, it goes straight from his hand backwards and thats how it hits his trailing leg

Quote

it is a knock-on when a player, in tackling or attempting to tackle an opponent, makes contact with the ball and the ball goes forward. Sanction: Scrum (if the ball goes into touch, the non-offending team may opt instead for a quick-throw or lineout).

He’s got to go. Immediately. There is so, so much wrong with this side

An England loss was very predictable to anybody who’s watched them in recent times. Welsh mentality was far superior. Even allowing for some of the worst refereeing I’ve ever seen in a rugby match, they got what they deserved.

And yet we should have won. Therein lies Jones's utter failure: he can make really superb players in to a team of dross.

Name names?

Other than binning Farrell and Ford, where might you be going?

Edit:

Not a challenge, btw. Just interest in suggestions.

Not my place to comment really but if you could just quietly bin Elliott Daly, that would be great

Are you Welsh bick?

Born in Birmingham but the first person in my immediate family born in England for over a century and on my Mother's side of the family that goes back waaaaaay more than a century (I'm probably the first ever but we can't prove that). I actually spoke Welsh as a kid because it was my Mothers first language but I kinda lost it when I went to school. My longest standing friends that I'm still in touch with are all from our village in Wales because I've known them since I was 3 or 4 and I spent every third weekend & every school holiday at my Granddads house. I have this bizarre ability to subconciously switch to a Welsh accent whenever I'm with my mates

So sort of yes. I'm more Welsh than anything else

Disappointing by England.

The first two tries obviously were ridiculous decisions. But England bounced back from that. But they capitulated again. So many penalties, you just can’t win rugby games giving away that many.
Eddie obviously wants them to play close to the edge, on another day and another ref, Itoje gets motm for how daring he was. But the players have to adapt to what is in front of them, and they just don’t.
Manu is a huge miss from the midfield, but then he has a record of being injured, we’ve not built another attacking game plan without him. Lawrence wasn’t given much chance and now gone back to moving Farrell.
Daly when he first came in was such an elusive runner, now he never has ball in hand. May barely touched the ball.
Billy V was slightly improved from previous but still a long way off his game.

Maunder for Youngs, with an eye on Randall. He's been terrific for Bristol and can move to other positions as the game demands. Youngs kicking has been poor for a while, and he doesn't seem to find space like he once did. There's also Dan Robson, who has performed highly consistently for many seasons now. I go and watch Wasps quite a bit so I may be biased there.

Obviously Edwards for Ford, with Joe Simmonds also given time. Jacob Umaga has huge potential too. Move Lawrence to inside and keep Slade at outside. Watson to fullback for me, although there are other options there. We have some very good options on the wing too, I just wish Nowell could stay fit. Centre is my only worry tbh. I don't think there's anything world class there. Daly was once, but he's gone backwards since the Lions.

I played as a back up until I ruptured my Achilles. Specialist Forward play is a dark art to me, although being a biased Wasps fan I'd build it all around Joe Launchbury. He's the only player who always, always goes forwards. Love him.

Don’t forget Marcus Smith who is flying at the moment as well. Max Malins has done reasonably well in limited time and looks a good runner.
Agreed we really lack a world class centre, they were talking about this on the rugby union podcast as well. Especially the way Jones likes a centre to play, it’s all on Manu and without him the game plan goes awry.
Think back row we have so many options, but haven’t got that consistency in a partnership without Underhill

The problem I think we have with centre, especially 12, is that traditionally it's that player who really decides if a move is on, or whether to go back inside. We've lost that now, especially under Jones. I don't really understand what he wants from his centres, as Farrell slows things down too much, I don't think he's a crash ball carrier, and he's never settled on someone at 13. I guess a big part of that is Manu's many injuries, but we've had so many other players in there, all with different strengths including Joseph, Lawrence, Te'o, Marchant etc. Slade seems to have taken the shirt for now but I only think he's picked for his boot, the same reason he plays Daly at fullback.

Sadly, it appears rugby has its own fair share of keyboard warriors with Ellis Genge receiving death threats for not clapping the Welsh players.off the pitch.

Also, a female BBC reporter has received online abuse post match following her pitchside interviews.

social media, for all its good points does give an unwanted voice to some sad individuals.

After watching it back yesterday I've softened my opinion on the first try too. The England defence has seemingly had time to successfully set up a man for man on their left hand side, which suggests others didn't perhaps share the same urgency to get into position. I wouldn't go so far as to say it was a good decision but it certainly wasn't as bad as Martin Johnson would have you believe.

Probably the worst set of questions I’ve ever heard to be honest, so blatantly biased it was embarrassing.

Not saying she deserves abuse for it but if she hadn’t done a shit job it wouldn’t have happened.

These people are meant to be the best in class.

I didn’t watch the interviews but no matter how bad, I don’t think I would be so incensed to send abuse to the reporter on social media.

it’s a sad indictment on current society
