ForeroGabe
Thinking about building a desktop computer or buying one that's already pre made. I have 500 to spend. Where would I get the best bang for the buck or best options? Thank. P.S. PC will be used only for gaming and surfing the web.
Anthony Posted August 27, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted August 27, 2013 Look at Tom's Hardware - they do articles on 'best cpu/gfx etc for the money' It's also worth looking at scan's 3xs systems for example combinations. Decent vendors are scan, ebuyer and also CBC who occasionally have crazy bargains and crazy overpriced stuff. I take it you know what you're doing technically? Davkaus
I very enthusiastically recommend Scan. Whether you buy a premade one, or buy the components and build it yourself, their after-sales support is absolutely fantastic. Especially go with them if you're building a PC for the first time. They offer an optional idiot insurance for a pretty low price (I think it works out to about 2% of the cost of the items you buy). If you drop a bollock and damage the components during installation, they swap it out no questions asked. Not really worth it for someone with experience, but if it's your first rig, a very nice option for peace of mind. Edit: I just want to point out I don't work for Scan.
