bromsgrove_avfc
Funny I struggle to fit Nigel in and think just Ohhhh Reo Coker fits perfectly if you emphasis the Reo bit? I agree the last line needs tweaking and Ra Ra Ra just sounds gay?
JulieB
Oh-OO- the O---KE----CO---KEE Oh Nigel--Reo-Cock-ER That's how Im singing it due to no of syllables in the original...BGA I think what you are singing is OH - OH Reo Coker which does go as well but personally I like "Oh Nigel Reo Cocker" maybe? JulieB
Taking on board people's dislike of European stuff and English songs being adopted I've been thinking about adopting a song I always loved on the radio for Villa and its Crowded House - "Always Take the Weather" It still gets played loads and most people know it and I think it would make a pretty unique song for Villa Park, its very echoey and the chorus would sound good with lots of people joining in - might need tweaking but here's a bash:- Walking round the Holte seeing former glories Since 82 out on the street Now its the same place but everything's different You can fight the sleep but not the dream Thing's are looking much the better Same affection wash over me Martin O'Neill and Randy Lerner Reach Claret & Blue Skys Everywhere you go always Aston Villa with you Everywhere you go you always Aston Villa Everywhere you go always Aston Villa with you Everywhere you go always Aston Villa, Aston Villa, with you! There's no place to go that's finer Win the trophies for the mantlepiece Do I stand here dreaming of our glory or do I sing like a bird released Everywhere you go always Aston Villa with you Everywhere you go you always Aston Villa Everywhere you go always Aston Villa with you Everywhere you go always Aston Villa, Aston Villa, Aston Villa with you Link to MP3 if anyone wants to listen CLICK ABSOLUTE QUALITY!!!!!!!! if you listen to the track via the link, it could work ....like it mate!! but you've got far too much time on your hands lol Actually it only took me about 20mins last night...I was waiting for something to update so had a bash, I've tried to keep the sense of the original which I think was about someone half asleep half awake day dreaming. So tried to give sense of someone standing in Villa Park the Holte before a game maybe musing over the future. I think this could be OK...but then I love the original song. There's a few chants at beginning of the thread which seem really good too. I love Vindaloo for John Carew as well as Carews on Fire one What have we come up with for Ashley Young? djdabush
Okay, it's stolen from a John O'Shea song, but really when are united fans ever going to sing it? It works better this way too: To the tune of The Animals go Marching When Johnny goes marching in the box, CAREW, CAREW When Johnny goes marching in the box, CAREW, CAREW When Johnny goes marching in the box, CAREW, CAREW, the Holte End will stand sing 'Cause we all know that Johnny's going to score

gort
When you try and fit 'oh Nigel reo-coker' in i don't think it fits, i think it sounds better if you just say his name and drag it out like 'Niiigel Reo Coker' or 'oohh Reo Coker'

Morley_crosses_to_Withe
Surely if the lyrics to the Black Lace 'Do the Conga lyrics' are: Do-do-doooo. Come on and do the conga. Do-do-doooo. It's conga night for sure. Then the Nigel Reo Coker version should be: Do-do-doooo Nigel Reo Coker, Do-do-doooo, Gabby and Luke Moore

Ashley Young, Can you hear us sing, Feared by the ...... (not sure what goes here), loved by the Holte Ashley Young...... Ashley Young.... Ashley Young...... I know this is slightly biased to the Holte, but makes it easier to fit to the tune. As for the feared bit, I am stumped. Don't wanna say 'feared by the blues' cos I think it's too predictable, and its better to sing for our boys rather than acknowledging Smath Heath. Suggestions? JulieB
Think this one is Mint also....Well done!! How about........ Feared by the rest, loved by the Holte' or " "Feared by their backs, loved by the Holte"

isgill88
Number 1 is John Carew Number 2 is John Carew Number 3 is John Carew etc. We all dream of a team of John Carews.... Not as good as a team of Robbie Keanes or Gary Breens, the old Coventry classics.

Watch me Luke Moore score, mate Watch me Luke Moore score, He's gonna score three or four more, mate So watch me Luke Moore score Altogether now Tie me John Carew down, sport Tie me John Carew down, Tie me John Carew down, sport Tie me John Carew down, etc. Another very simple one... I love my Villa, my only Villa It makes me happy when skies are grey You'll never know, dear, how much I love it So please don't take my Villa away The other night dear as I lay sleeping I dreamed I held you in my arms But when I awoke, dear, I was mistaken So please don't take my Villa away La la la la la la la la

RuberyVilla
I was thinking though as the original song is ALWAYS TAKE THE WEATHER with you maybe it would be better if the chorus was :- Everywhere you go always take the Villa with you Everywhere you go you always take the Villa Everywhere you go always take the Villa with you Everywhere you go always take the Villa, take the Villa with you! I was going to suggest this myself, but i thing apart from that its a wonderfull effort but like most decent songs it's very difficult to get them going. Good luck
