The complete and utter chants thread

as an older fecker, we had a great simple song, sung by the whole ground for Andy Gray, which could be adapted - i am sure most 40 somethings would remember it blasting out.

To the tune sailing, by Rod Stewart

Ohh Ashley, oh oh Ashley

youre the greatest, The Holte End say

Oh Ashley, oh oh Ashley, we'll be with you all the way

repeat repeat etc

Gets my vote

And mine too

This is my favourite Barry song:

'You are my Barry, My Gareth Barry,

You make me happy when skies are grey,

So **** your Lampard and Steven Gerrard,

And please don't take my Barry away'

And my favourite Young song:

Young.....

Young will tear you apart........

again.....

Repeat.

And a potential Petrov one:

Like me, and you,

He's Villa through and through,

He's Stiliyaaaan,

He's Stiliyaaaan.

He'll strike, it hard,

And score from 40 yards,

He's Stiliyaaaan,

He's Stiliyaaaan.

Still unsure about the first two lines, but I think it needs two variations sung after each other, so it doesn't get old fast. But I think we don't sing a chant based on this tune (or am I mistaken) so IDEAS PLEASE.

sorry if this has already been posted but..too many pages to check.... one to sing about the blosers....

To the tune of ...lets play the music and dance....

There may be trouble ahead..

but when there's barry and gabby...

no love lost..no romance..

lets send the blues down and dance

Got half a song for Bouma.

To the tune of the flinstones:

Freddie, Freddie Bouma

He's the best left-back in history

now if someone can come up with a decent 2nd verse.................

loving this, I like the number three idea aswell so hows about the 2nd verse being;

From the town of Helmond

Hes now the mighty villas number three

Yeah this is really good - i think it scans better without the 'now' in line 4 with a longer 'heees'

From the, town of Helmond

He's the mighty Villas number three

I'll give it a go at Everton on Sunday (though me throat is still sore from Sunday)

How about something with Weezer - Buddy Holly?

Like

Ooh-wee-ooh, he is Nigel Reo-Coker

Oh-oh, and he tackles like a king

I don't care if he gets a booking

I dont care about that

My first attempt at a chant ever, it obviously needs tuning or rewriting. But the melody is great and the first line could just start something.

For Olof's last few games, to the tune of "The Animals went in 2 by 2"

For 7 years he’s played his part

Olof, Olof

To Italy he will depart

Mellberg, Mellberg

He came across from Sunny Spain

Santander’s Loss

But Villa’s Gain

The Swedish Viking

Super Olof Mellberg

Struck me yesterday at Goodison that we really don't have a song for this lad, at a time, when we really need to show him how much we want him to stay.

When we sang 'Barry for England' - which was after we had sang for literally EVERYONE else in our team, you could just tell he was waiting for it - I got that sense - he clapped immediately.

We really need to get a song for him to show him how much we want him to stay. Barry for England just doesn't cut it.

Don't know if anyone else noticed this?
