The complete and utter chants thread

Little song to celebrate our amazing support during dark times.

And it's No, Nay, never

No, nay never no more

Well we play the land over,

Never winning no more

But we've all been Villa for many a year

And we'll keep spending money on Villa and beer

And now we're returning with hope in our hearts

We sing for the Villa wherever we are

Came across this old song with 'sly old codger in' - could adapt for Kodjia

His name is codger, an artful dodger

A poacher unsurpassed

He's on fire, a real live wire

That just can't be outclassed

Was reading Bruce praising Gary Gardner for his industry saying “he ran a million miles out there.”  Was thinking we could do something with the Proclaimers song 500 Miles. Maybe this?  We need more player chants.

Cus he will run 500 miles

And he will run 500 more

Just to be the man who ran a thousand miles

So Villa win some more

GARY GARDER, Gary Garder,

GARY GARDER, Gary Garder,

diddle-um-diddle-um-diddle-um, la la la

I love Oasis, Oasis were a huge part of my youth and are still a big part of my musical life today.

But they're synonymous with Manchester City and Manchester in general, "don't look back in anger" fit the moment but it doesn't fit our future.

One thing I think Villa have lacked for some years is indentity, we shouldn't be borrowing others we should be forging our own. For that reason I think the "don't look back needs to stop"

After seeing the videos on social media, I get the feeling it's here to stay for a little while at least. As someone who is very cynical, and fan of "inventing" anthems, I'm just gonna embrace this one. I don't particularly like the song or the band, and I really don't like all the Manc stuff, but sod it, I'm getting on this!

Agree with FIB.

It's a shame none of the more well known Brum bands have any anthems in the vein of those that would qualify as terrace chants.

I can't stand oasis, but more to the point, they are indeed all about Man City.

I can only think of a handful of Brum bands that have at least one anthem that the majority would know....not sure how relevant that anthem would be mind.

Duran Duran, Black Sabbath, The Move, Wizzard, Traffic, Slade, The Beat, Moody Blues, Fuzzbox...even UB40....any more that have at least one anthem that the majority would know?
