0 limpid Posted August 5, 2013 Author Administrator Share Posted August 5, 2013 Apple's dev centre has been down over two weeks now. I can't create the account to start the process.. Link to comment

0 limpid Posted August 6, 2013 Author Administrator Share Posted August 6, 2013 Rather than keeping an eye out, you could just click "Follow this topic" in the top right and you'll be notified when I post an update. Link to comment
0 limpid Posted August 11, 2013 Author Administrator Share Posted August 11, 2013 Apple's dev centre finally came back up yesterday. I created an account and I've purchased an iOS developer licence for £60 for a year and 24 hours later, it's still not active. What a bunch of tossers this company are. Link to comment
0 limpid Posted August 11, 2013 Author Administrator Share Posted August 11, 2013 and I get an error when I check my order status. Link to comment
0 limpid Posted August 11, 2013 Author Administrator Share Posted August 11, 2013 I've just phoned them and their systems are down for routine maintenance. Hmmm. Wouldn't the error message above state this if it was true? The agent I spoke to said he'd never heard of anything like this happening with licence purchases (yeah right). So they've lied to me twice today already. What a great start to my time as an iOS developer. Link to comment
0 darrenm
They can do whatever they like and you should be happy to even be associated with them. 1 Link to comment
0 limpid Posted August 11, 2013 Author Administrator Share Posted August 11, 2013 I can't do that much cognitive dissonance though. Every time I have to deal with them or their products it's like this. I'm still expecting that after all this, they'll tell me that my (ex-doorstop) mac is too old for me to be a developer, even though I just want to upload an app created by someone else. 0 limpid Posted August 11, 2013 Author Administrator Share Posted August 11, 2013 Still nothing, but now when I ring there is no-one there. "Please call back in office hours. Click". So I've got to find out when office hours are then you tossers? Link to comment
0 leviramsey Posted August 11, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted August 11, 2013 This could turn into the most entertaining thread on VT (at least since the pants-pissing/bed-wetting thread has fizzled). 1 Link to comment
0 VillaForever1970
Never had any issues when developing, always top stuff. Link to comment
0 limpid Posted August 11, 2013 Author Administrator Share Posted August 11, 2013 It would be nice to be developing. I'm still trying to buy a licence. 1 Link to comment
0 darrenm
Not sure this is the best place for this, but this is a very good read. Feel free to move / delete. Link to comment
0 limpid Posted August 12, 2013 Author Administrator Share Posted August 12, 2013 Still nothing. I'm on hold for the "UK department" who are the only ones that can help. More than 48 hours and still no developer access. Three weeks and 4 days since I started this journey. Link to comment
0 limpid Posted August 12, 2013 Author Administrator Share Posted August 12, 2013 Well that's brilliant. Nearly 30 minutes on hold. "I'm sorry we can't help you at this time. The tool we need to use to send your activation code is down. We expect it to be fixed within a few days." "Can you arrange for it to be sent to me when the tools is available?" "No. You'll need to call." Link to comment
0 limpid Posted August 12, 2013 Author Administrator Share Posted August 12, 2013 Yay, they've let me spend my money. Now to use Apple's developer method I need to buy a new Mac and an XCode licence. Time to remember how openssl works from the command line. Link to comment
0 limpid Posted August 12, 2013 Author Administrator Share Posted August 12, 2013 Even better. I also need to buy an iphone. FFS. All I want to do is upload an app. Link to comment
0 JayDeePee
Sounds like apple has well and truly pulled your pants down Link to comment
