Exactly. Anybody with a modicum of internet experience could have told him that.

Why haven't they?

the 20 billion*  Chinese users on Facebook could have told him for sure

* slight exaggeration before some pedant call me up on it

Is there a filter on my computer and TV to block out Tory cretins, can anybody help me?

Of all the people you want as a villa fan Cameron is the last. Hate him and his cronies. As a previous poster said it will be easy to get around, but there are wider issues involved and if its made law and you have to choose to opt in then that's a list I wouldn't want to be part of. There's still newsnet, and vpns

Oh Lord.

"We will block this smut with the flick of a switch"

I'm starting to think that Dave has only used typewriters his whole life.

Typewriters? Don't be ridiculous, that's womens' work.

Fountain pen, fountain pen.

You know what their problem is don't you? Too many immigrant porn stars coming over here and taking our sluts jobs and taking all sorts of other things in the process.

I felt sure your post was going to be about the irony of scantily clad women in the right hand headline column  ....

that'll be the Mail

no sense of irony at a campaign to block porn next to articles about young ladies coming of age

a very creepy sort of newspaper

I'd actually presume its an ironic mock up, but you can't tell with the Mail

Why is everybody getting partisan? Have Labour come out against this policy and I've just missed it? As far as I'm aware they even said it didn't go far enough, although they could've just been referring to the child porn blocks.

who's getting partisan?

I'm pretty sure that in another dimension where literally anything can happen and Milliband was in charge, the same policy would be getting the same ridicule.

The only "partisan" person on this is you!

Cameron, has tried to play sound bite politics and come out with a policy that is totally unworkable and unrealistic while desperately trying to catch some headlines. This is happening on Cameron's watch, he is the only one trying to gain some glory for this and rightly is being subjected to abuse. If any other political figure had tried implement such an idea I would expect similar ridicule of them

I'm not getting partisan at all. I think it's a ridiculous policy. The Conservatives should be ashamed for introducing it (although I expect some backbenchers will rebel) and whoever else votes for it (most of the Labour party will I expect) should also be ashamed.

Labour last night threw its weight behind the Daily Mail’s campaign for an automatic block on online porn.

An ‘opt-in’ system, under which access is blocked unless adults specifically say they want to see sexual content, would be a ‘sensible’ way forward, the shadow ministers for media and justice declared

In their article, above, shadow media minister Helen Goodman and shadow justice minister Jenny Chapman say this plan does not go nearly far enough.

And they say that David Cameron’s closeness to internet giant Google means that the Coalition is too ‘weak’ to act, concluding: ‘The Prime Minister should not put his cronies before the children of this country’.

I'm trying to find your "ridicule "posts from 2012 :)  ..... :detect:

We had a similar idea not that long ago down here in Australia. It ended up dying a slow death as the idea of a government provided "clean feed" of the internet is technically impossible and fraught with consequences over privacy and freedom that were greater than the problem they were trying to solve.

As mentioned by someone earlier in this thread: This is a parenting issue, not a government one.

Didn't they try to ban porn actresses (of legal age) with small boobs in Australia?

Let's not forget that a fair share of women actually like that.

I can't imagine many women getting off on the ones that come out of California where the women are completely abused and demeaned. I don't personally see how anybody could get off on it, but people do. But there are softer porno movies that depict rape, that are aimed at women. Essentially women and men enjoy watching simulated rape, so it will exist on porno websites, I don't know how it could be enforced.

I know and have known a few women who like to be abused and degraded sexually. I've got no issue doing it either. Sex between two consenting adults can be as filthy and as nasty as you like. Same with related pornography.

Hands off the **** Internet big brother you fascist word removed.
