Jimzk5
The two things I use the net for are porn and villatalk. If this gets enforced someone on here is going to have to do some selfies so I can get my fix. (not you rob).
Giro
Thanks Cameron. As my mum pays the Internet bill, I have to have an awkard conversation in asking her to ring virgin media to allow me to carry on my masturbation needs. Nice one pal
darrenm
As I've just put on Google+ In principle, if I could trust the government to not include other sites in the ban list which would not be classified as porn then yes, I would welcome it.Unfortunately, they've proven time and time again that they can't be trusted. Therefore I will resist every attempt they make to gain more power as they've shown themselves to be corrupt and self-serving on every occasion when allowed to encroach on our liberties. If it was fully opt-out, with no reporting back of those who opt-out, and the government didn't use it to ban anything else which wouldn't reasonably be covered under the original mandate, then I can't see a lot wrong with it. But as we all know, there's not much chance of that.
Kingfisher
It will be illegal to posess online porn depicting rape? A hell of a lot of the (IMO) horrible porn that comes out of California quite often simulates borderline rape. Will that be illegal to view? How can that be enforced? Kingfisher
Let's not forget that a fair share of women actually like that. I can't imagine many women getting off on the ones that come out of California where the women are completely abused and demeaned. I don't personally see how anybody could get off on it, but people do. But there are softer porno movies that depict rape, that are aimed at women. Essentially women and men enjoy watching simulated rape, so it will exist on porno websites, I don't know how it could be enforced.
Davkaus
I don't know how it could be enforced. The government would need some sort of secret means of observing people's internet traffic, perhaps with the underhanded assistance of major technology companies...Inconcievable! mjmooney Posted July 22, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted July 22, 2013 Exactly. Anybody with a modicum of internet experience could have told him that. Why haven't they?
CVByrne
Ah so step one is filtering for porn, next it will be for "illegal" content, then it will be filtered on sites that attack the government. So we'll just have access to government approved sites. ie China. I've only just got here and now I want to leave this place. Shame on this country. Shame. And when they find out that thousands of people across the whole spectrum of society are accessing porn depicting rape they're going to have to build a lot of new prisons. They've not thought this through really have they. More politician bullshit.
Nigel Posted July 22, 2013 VT Supporter Share Posted July 22, 2013 Apparently this wont affect anyone with an existing internet connection, its only really for new set ups. Those with existing internet have to opt to remove it.
