Some quotes from the Stoke chairman:

"Stoke chairman Peter Coates has welcome Paul Lambert to the club, telling the official website: “Paul greatly impressed us with his knowledge of our squad and had a clear plan of how he would improve our results.

We were determined to appoint someone with Premier League experience or an extensive knowledge of English football. We look forward to working with Paul and supporting him to help achieve our goals.”

Sounds awfully familiar that...

Lucky for them he also has Championship experience.

Lambert :D :D:D:D

What are Stoke thinking. Apparently it was out of him or Megson.

Can't see them staying up now.

Would be amazing, but isn't Keane still part of the Ireland setup?

Yeah, I think he is. But maybe he doesn't feel as bound by that oral agreement MON made to them?

And he might feel there is a very good chance of him getting the manager job once Lambert is sacked in May :D

It’s quite incredible how same old managers keep getting jobs after several failures.

Has Lambert actually had "several failures"?

With hindsight, most Villa fans think he did alright keeping us in the Premier League.  With Blackburn, they were basically mid-table in Championship.  He improved Wolves from where they were before he took over, too.

Only reason he didn't take us down was because we finally sacked him. Played his part cementing a losing mentality around the club.

I think the injury to Benteke that season really didn't help him at all.  He worked with not much (again, in hindsight) and managed to keep the turd afloat.

Then along came good ol' Timmy S and the rest is history.
