gwi1890
what is this myth that spurs are a well run club? It’s a shambles, they sold Bale years ago and re invested terribly only one left is Lamela and he’s bang average , they where offered £80m for Eriksen but tried to hold out for more only to lose him a few seasons later for £16m

villa4europe
Depends how you define well run If you say that traditionally they're up there with us and Everton then I don't see how you can state they aren't well run, Levy has overseen them step up another level, they're no longer "best of the rest" or anything like that If you're judging it just by player turnover then that's slightly different Levy like Woodward is very very good at his day job off the pitch, the problem is dabbling with the stuff on the pitch (even then I don't think Levy is as bad as Woodward)

Played in CL final less than two years ago. Look where they were finishing in the 90s and indeed first part of the 2000s. No point comparing to us for last decade as we've been one of worst run major clubs in the country but in the 2000s we played what about 3 seasons in europe despite many millions being spent so it's not that easy. Everton haven't played much in europe in recent times despite spending why more than Spurs. As we've seen regular european participation helps grows the clubs status around the world and got them an invitation to the greed league. It will be one of the metrics used to see how successful we are in next 5 years anyway.

MrSmirch
Didn't realise Sampaoli went to Marseille, he'd have been good. I'd love to see Dyche get in and have the dressing room down tools within a week.

The 51-year-old had been favourite to take over at Tottenham as Jose Mourinho's permanent successor. Oh well. 1
Popular Post cyrusr Posted April 30, 2021 VT Supporter Popular Post Share Posted April 30, 2021 I see Southgate has been linked. Would love this to be true for 3 reasons:- It will be an utter failure; Will make me want to watch England again; and Would mean there is zero chance of Grealish ever going to Spurs. They does seem to be a limited amount of options for Spurs, or certainly ones for a "Super League" club to have...
Mic09
I reckon they can't find anyone, Mason gets a 3 year contract and gets sacked in January with Spurs sitting in 7th place and still in both cups. It's probably the most predictable outcome.
OutByEaster? Posted April 30, 2021 Moderator Share Posted April 30, 2021 Eddie Howe? Thomas Frank? Is it about being a big enough name? It seems one of the important things about maintaining your brand security and the place at the top table is perpetuating the illusion of greatness through association. Come home Sol. I hope they don't get Thomas Frank. He's a very very good coach/manager. If only he came with Deano. I'm sure if we pay the usual release fee for anyone associated with Brentford we'll get him. £20m?? In fact I bet they'd charge £20m for their tea lady too.
