They broke their transfer record and spent over £100m in the summer.

the problem is a couple of years of not spending, losing their best young players and then to be fair also poch not really giving much youth a chance, apart from central midfield they don't have a lot of depth and its not so much injuries (which they have) its several of them are out of form, the key ones being Eriksen and Ali, they're still very dependent on Kane and Son

So did we. Difference is, we did it on 12 players and they did it for 3. Hardly what I'd call revamping the squad. All they did this summer was plug a gap left by the departure of Dembele. Lo Celso and Sessegnon were signings for the future and don't improve the first team at all. Also, due to the contract situations, he either had to pony up and give Eriksen, Vertonghen and Alderweireld new contracts or give Poch money to replace them. He did neither.

And that's just this season. The preceding 1 1/2 seasons, they didn't spend a dime, which allowed these squad holes to widen even further to the point they are now. We've had a higher net spend this summer than they've had in the past 10 years or so amazingly enough. Poch worked miracles to get this team to where it was. CL Finalists. Appeared in 3 other cup finals and finished in the top 3 for 3/4 years in a row and 2 back to back seasons where they were in the title race until the last couple of weeks. He was crying out for some backing in the transfer market to make a real push.

Now we all know how Mourinho operates. In addition to being a new manager who needs to put his stamp on the team by buying new players, he also typically goes for more established, expensive players. By hiring him, you'd think Levy is ready to back him...which begs the question, why didn't you just back Poch?

We just about came up via the play-offs we needed that £100m to revamp our whole squad, they'd just just finished in the top four and reached the champions league final so their squad doesn't need anywhere near as much work on it as most squads in the premier league never mind ours. When you only need three or four players £100m is a lot of money, it's Pochettino who decided to spend half of it on Ndombele who as good as he is, plays in a position where Tottenham are well covered and then anoter £11m on Jack Clarke before loaning him back to Leeds. The previous summer they didn't spend anything but the money was there because they bid £25m for Grealish and made bids for other players, and the summer before that they spent another £100m plus. The idea that he hasn't been backed isn't accurate, and no doubt they'll spend money under Mourinho as well.

The point is that they absolutely needed to revamp the squad if they wanted to even stand still. You can clearly see the effects of not doing so. It's not like Pochettino became a bad manager overnight. This team has aged. They don't press as much as they used to, considerably less so actually and a lot of the players just aren't as committed anymore due to financial reasons. This was the season for an overhaul and they didn't do it. 100m for a team of their ambitions is nothing when the they need to revamp. It's perfectly fine for us as a newly promoted team as it averages out to just about 12m per player.

As someone who watches a lot of Spurs given that my brother supports them and are somewhat my second team, they needed to replace the following players:

Rose
Dier
Wanyama
Trippier
Alderweireld (alternatively, a new contract)
Vertonghen (alternatively, a new contract)
Eriksen (alternatively, a new contract)
Llorente
Dembele

If were were to be ambitious we could add Lloris to that list who has deteriorated significantly in recent years. That's almost a full XI.  As it stands, all they've done in the summer was replace Dembele. The rest of that list have not been replaced. Either they're still here and not good enough or committed enough anymore, or they've departed without a replacement coming in.

on poch, Bayern is available now, come the end of the season there could be a job at utd, arsenal, Dortmund, psg or barca

with his pay off too and lets be honest levy's ambition to be the new arsenal, its not the worst thing in the world for him

He'll end up at PSG.

Sack a manager who was floundering because you refused to back him to revamp the squad, then hire a checkbook manager. Genius from Levy.

Could be. Mourinho at Porto revamped the careers of players who you might've thought had reached their ceiling.

Winning the CL with a team from outside the top five European leagues is a great accomplishment, it might never happen again.

It's not like he was poor at Chelsea, Inter or Real. He is a notable and memorable achiever with each.

United is the only place he was unable to emulate his ability to compete at the very top, even then he won two trophies in his first season there.
