Things that piss you off that shouldn't

If it is midweek and I want to get a PS4 game I basically have to order it and get it delivered, wait until the weekend or pay the ridiculous price on the play store.

What happened to the local movie store open late night, what happened to game stores at late night shoppinh parks, what happened to Blockbuster's? How did we let this happen?

£54.99 on playstore to get a game you can pick up for £20 in a shop. Get **** modern world.

While we're on the subject. Estate agents' admin fees. A licence to print money.

I've said this before, when we rented I was self employed, I paid the 'financial check admin fee' and a few days later the estate agents phoned me up asking for my SA302 forms to prove my income, so I basically paid £200 I think for me to do what they were charging me for.

words removed the **** lot of them.

Hopefully with all these online estate agents selling houses for under £500 these crooks will go out of business

On the positive side, you have lots of holidays to look forward to, especially if you are already using more than the leave you have been given as I assume you have at least the minimum 20 days. If you don't have leave left, your choices seem to be to ask for a couple of hours off to be made up flexi style, or ask for a couple of hours unpaid leave. Most decent employers should be able to accommodate a couple of hours for something as important as house hunting, especially as it's something that is typically restricted to day business hours, as you've found out.

I get 25 days, but as I've just started I only get a certain allocation of them.

I have 15 days of holiday booked from before I even knew about the possibility of this job.

They're going to honour it, but anything over what I've been allocated will be unpaid. Which is fine.

I finish at midday on a Friday now (get in!) so I could view houses on my own, but the gf doesn't have the luxury of flexi working.

Working late and then getting caught in traffic! The only benefit of staying late is that the traffic has usually cleared and you can zoom home. Not now thanks to Brum City Council and its non stop roadworks.

Oh, I have an estate agent one. I can join in.

Currently looking for a house to rent, as mentioned in other threads.

Found an amazing one in Sutton Coldfield last week. Spotted it the morning it appeared on Rightmove. Phoned them up immediately. COnversation went something like this.

"I'm interested in viewing one of your properties blah blah blah"

"Ok, we can fit you in tomorrow (Thursday) morning. Does that work for you?"

"Well, no. My partner and I both work during the day. Can we view it in the evening? Or the weekend?"

"No, sorry. We only do weekday daytime viewings for all of our rental properties"

"Riiiiight. So what do people like us who work during the day do?"

"I don't know. Our properties are popular enough that we can just do daytime viewings"

"So you can't show us this property in the evening even though we are very interested and will probably sign a contract on the spot if we like it in the flesh?"

"Yes that's correct. We can't keep going backwards and forwards to a property if it's popular because it would be too many visits"

What the ****? Firstly, of course you can keep going backward and forwards to a property. That's what happens when a house is on the market!

Secondly, the house was empty, so it's not like it would annoy anyone!

Thirdly, how the **** are we meant to find a house if that's how it works?!

They're just being inflexible. All the estate agents I have used (not many admittedly) have arranged Saturday viewing or early evening viewings.

What side of Sutton mate?

All joking aside that's the worst thing. We get on well, we're pretty matey. She messaged me 3/4 times mentioning that she was bringing a guy home. A guy, not an orgy. I hate being lied to and manipulated.

I sent her a strongly worded txt this morning mentioning all this and you know what she focused on? Waking me up. Like that was the problem.

**** div. I can't live with somebody I can't trust eh.

I couldn't imagine sharing a house with someone, but I guess that's common in London what with the house prices etc. Its just I couldn't abide the thought of strange people in the house, like the 2 guys who your friend had back.

It was FFM.

I've met some good people sharing. My best mate was my housemate at first. I've met a few chica's through it too. Took me a lot of getting used to but I'm cool with it now, though I would rather live alone.

This was south, not far from Wylde Green Station.

But we're looking all over really.

At a club.

Talking to a British girl.

Says she's from Birmingham.

I go "Oh, did you know I support Aston Villa"

"I don't follow football"

End of conversation.

Knowing that there is a porn industry in Canberra, makes me think that talking about your football team is not the most obvious chat-up line.

Something like "Well neither do I. Villa've been crap for years" might have rescued it before moving swiftly on legov.  Bloody amateurs :P
