trekka 1,616 Report post Posted February 28, 2014 As long as you're having the fish fingers in between 2 pieces of bread, then yes, I could go with that. That could go with anything. FIsh finger sandwiches are a neglected nutrition I feel. I mean, I got through my uni days living off of them and I'm OK. (I think).

mjmooney 21,792 Report post Posted March 1, 2014 (edited) My missus is in a foul mood this weekend. Everything I do is wrong. Bloody women. There's your problem. Actually, no. She's post-menopausal. She used to be absolutely hell on wheels at that time of the month - to the point it almost destroyed our marriage - but she's been way, way better the last few years. Which makes the occasional outburst like this all the more annoying. I should just let it all wash over me, but inevitably I eventually lose my temper which just makes things worse. useless 6,674 Report post Posted March 1, 2014 Introductions, prefaces and thanks at the start of books. I'd rather just get straight into the story.
CarewsEyebrowDesigner 11,181 Report post Posted March 1, 2014 On first reading, yes. They come in handy if you're either studying a book or fancy a bit more depth second time round.
useless 6,674 Report post Posted March 1, 2014 I wish they'd put them at the back of the book though, I always feel obliged to read all that stuff before I get started with the main body.
mjmooney 21,792 Report post Posted March 1, 2014 If a novel has an introduction, I will only read it after the main book. They often contain massive spoilers.
