Villa pre-season results not important?

Results aren't important in terms of a yardstick for how the team will do in the league but they are important for fans excitement levels.

On another point is it me or are we playing more friendlies this year than ever before? I can't remember us ever having played as many as we are

Definitely Richard! I'm sure we normally play 1 a week, with an occasional 2-game week.

Maybe it's a more intense pre-season schedule, which has its risks (injuries) but ultimately gets you ready for the season a lot quicker.

Maybe this, along with the fact that we brought in our new players early, will mean we kick off the season better than other teams.
