Radio stations

I've subscribed to Sirius XM for eight years now and still quite enjoy the programming.

Channels most commonly listened to:

Sirius XM FC, though since Talksport took over the global Premier League radio rights, they insisted that Sirius replace 606 with Talksport programming as a condition of having PL games... I know all about Admiral Multi-Car now...

Mad Dog Radio

Sports Play By Play 92 - though mainly for the Dan Patrick and Artie Lange shows, which I'm as likely to watch on TV as listen to on the radio

Howard 100

And musically

Classic Rewind

Ozzy's Boneyard

Lithium

'60s on 6

'80s on 8

Radio Margaritaville

Cinemagic

BB King's Bluesville

Underground Garage

What radio stations does people listen to??

Absolute shite when I was flicking through today. I like planet rock although it can be a bit 'dad rock' sometimes. Zane Lowe on radio one is superb although the rest of the content on the station is utter shit. Talk sport has way way to many adverts but I like collymore and Durham.

Other then that it's utter shite. I need a dab radio in my car to freshen up my commute to work but they seem so expensive.

I cant stand Zane Lowe!

I normally have talksport or capital on if i listen to the radio.

Zane's the only thing I would listen to on Radio 1 (but have to say i just don't listen to R1 any more, now I have DAB).

The rest is for teenagers really. That's the target demographic.

it's a pity stations like 6 Music have never existed on FM.

I really think he's got no option other than to get a DAB put into his car.

During the day.

Basically anything on Radio 1 outside office hours is usually pretty decent. Friday nights are excellent (for someone with my tastes) for example, and certainly not aimed at teenagers

Yeah, the late evening/night stuff when I used to tune into R1 was OK actually. Almost 6 Musicy to a degree. Slightly more (modern) rap than 6 music caters for though. The problem I had (have) with R1 was that I needed a Radio station for commute into and out of work. I was faced with Fat Bully Moyles and Scott Mills.

DAB helped my keep my sanity.

Yeah I can see that. And they even admit they're specifically trying to attract a younger listener to those times (that was explicitly their reasons for replacing Moyles with Grimshaw)

I still listen on my commute in the morning, mainly because there's not much better on normal radio (imo). I don't have DAB.

But that's it, the commute home is my own music or podcasts.

I liked Grimshaw a lot more before he did the breakfast show.

I think our taste in music is actually quite similar and I used to nejoy how he'd sarcastically play stuff he HAD to play and basically just say it was crap.

Doesn't happen anymore.

Yup, that used to be quite funny and refreshing by Radio One standards.

Pretty much exactly what Moyles used to do wasn't it? Although CM used to just try and get away without playing any music whatsoever.

Considering the music listed on the Radio One playlist, that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I do actually like Grimshaw, still.

I just don't think his show is that good. I listen between 7 and 8 (ish) and it's mostly just an advert for the rest of the show.

I know everything that happens on the show, I just never get to hear it!

True.

But the alternative was Fat Moyles and his bileous rants.

Stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Commuting is definitely for CDs, not radio.

Now I have my DAB radio, I beg to differ Mr Moon Man.

Also, R4 has some decent informative output.

Kim Fowley & Andrew Loog Oldham DJ - Interesting stuff, ever listen to them Levi?

Going to nominate Resonance, the Arts Council's radio station.

The specialist music shows are great.

The classical and World DJs really knew their stuff, we used buy bits from each other and chat a bit.

The soundtrack show is hosted by Jonny Trunk, whose record label releases all sorts of weird and wonderful stuff (including the OP in the album thread).

Radio 4 otherwise.
