Play patiently from the back?

Bacuna please... he's a headless chicken who has the composure of a barn door and can't pass the ball 3 yards.

At Villa yes, but then that's the same for every player here.

Take them out of the cesspool that is VP/BH and miraculously they rediscover how to kick a ball either to a team mate or, wait for it, into the net.

So it was left to Bacuna to show his side where the net was with a brilliant first goal for the club.

The recent Aston Villa signing needed little invitation to run into space before unleashing an unstoppable drive from 30 yards that flew past the fingertips of Tom King.

It was always going to happen.....some want to play for you, some don't......sulky so and so.

He played under enough managers with us, none could get much out of him.

"one swallow don't make a summer".....best of luck to them

It has nothing to do with players wanting or not wanting to play for us and more to do with managers being unable to create the right atmosphere for players to flourish.

We haven't had a quality manager since Martin O'Neil left and coincidentally we haven't had any success since then either.

Another review from a Reading fan:

Quote

Bacuna is classy and should soon establish himself as a starter in midfield. Apart from one moment, he worked hard, tackled back, won loads of the ball, was always available, keen to receive the ball and showed lots of vision with almost always the most sensible pass, He fed Popa often (Popa had a great game apart from his finishing). The goal was excellent. Picked up the ball deep in midfield, ghosted through two opponents, carried it to the edge of the box and wellies a great shot into the back of the net. This is a very good player. 8

I would have thought it was a little from column A, a little from column B.

I wouldn't read too much into Reading fans comments. Everytime a fresh player joins any club there is a wave of euphoria and people reading into things that aren' there. The dust soon settles and everyone realises the player is shit.

As the most recent example. I remember Lansbury joining and his first few games pinging 70 yard balls and thinking wow. Then with each subsequent game realising just how average, inconsistent and limited he is...and realising all the "bitter" Forest fans comments were in fact pretty accurate.

Another strong performance from Bacuna in Reading's 0-2 away win against Birmingham. Played a part in setting up their first goal and rated a 7.6 according to WhoScored.

"On last train back... Good performance all round and impressed by Bacuna's nice play on the breaks".

"Played a little too deep on occasions but got forward to have a hand in the 1st goal. Could be a bargain. 7".

"Bacuna and Barrow have brought in the extra pace that was missing which gave Kelly a lot more impetus".

"Bacuna blocked a lot of long passes from midfield. He really stopped their momentum".

"Bodvarsson, Barrow and Bacuna all excellent. This apparent approach of looking for undervalued players with PL/Championship experience is paying off quite nicely".

I love how you are quoting these Reading fans positive lines and they all finish by scoring him with a 7 or 8/10 :crylaugh:

I'm sure Real Madrid will buy him for $999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999.00 at the end of the season*

One of many players clearly with more ability than showed regularly in claret and blue. Amavi will be another to move onto better things.
