Don't think so, and you failed to address any of the points I raised.

I'm not surprised.

But you didn't respond to me..... You responded "genetically" (?!) remember?

The only discomfort you appear to be suffering is the fall from your high horse.

Come off it. You've been made to look a tit, at least have the good grace to admit it.

Real shame its another stain on the shirt.

Does the club have no moral or ethical compass.

I've gone with Kuchar 35/1, oousthiuzen 28/1 and as an outsider Els at 100/1

None have started particularly well

CI, I can't actually say what you are, because that would be post on poster, but you are one. And a massive one that that.

:thumb:

Yep, as I thought there'd be one.

What a clearing in the woods you are, and how sad your life is to try and point score against me.

Anyway, as you've taken the time to obsessively look for my posts we'll respond, not to you but more genetically.

I already made clear, this is about others not me. I gamble within my means , not an issue .

This is about the broader message and whether I'm comfortable with what my club portrays to the wider market .

So don't dog my posts anymore , of you have half a brain think about a bigger audience rather than failing on a point scoring basis .

Interestingly our deal with Genting was the 6th best in the Prem at £8m a year

better even than Arsenal if the table I saw is correct

Hopefully the new deal is in that ball park

Ive heard £20m for the two years.

It probably isn't.  The club are quick to announce something when it is a record deal for us and they haven't here so it has to be lower than the Genting deal.  It is disappointing to see our shirt deal fall in value at a time when the cost of sponsorship is going up.

We had a higher deal than Arsenal because they were locked into a long term deal stemming from the construction of their stadium, when they renew they will be getting a damn sight more than we do.  Apparently Sunderland managed to get £20m a season from a not for profit group in Invest in Africa.  How did they manage to wrangle that?  I'd assume Miliband might have used a few political connections to make the deal happen but it shits on what we have however you look at it.  I'm just glad we are only in a two year deal.

Another gambling company. And, possibly, on less money than our last.

I'm struggling to see the positives.

It's not a payday loan company where players might have religious reasons not to wear it?

Look, I'd enjoy a marquee sponsor also, but that's not the point of sponsorship.  Chelsea is sponsored by the same outfit that equips Swindon, Arsenal shares a sponsor with NY Cosmos, and United is about to be sponsored by a rather poor car manufacturer.  Coke, Apple, all those "great" names aren't going to sponsor a club because they simply don't need to. As long as I don't have to see Dave Whelan's face plastered on our kit, I'm pretty happy.

If anything, the new sponsor will reduce the amount of logo space on the kit (down from Genting's 3 lines); if they went down to a single line I'd be very pleased. If we have logo color control like we did over Genting (and not over FxPro), all the better. I'd love to have acorns back in the fold, but we need to keep being financially responsible.

I apologize for being American and not knowing, but is there anything stopping us from putting acorns on the back a la Barcelona and unicef?

Do we think many alcoholics were created because of Everton's shirt?

yes abosolutly

I have seen people drink that brew simply because they are everton fans, I have heard of booze trips to thailand by everton fans who want to drink the brewery

all this without even mentioning the fact that subconnciously reminders of beer, inspire furthe drinking, and advertisments like this will push kids to try and gain a bottle of the brew of thier fav team. why do you think they never let Football players who don't drink discuss this topic in interviews or talk about how most major Athletes in the world stay sober for health reasons

The sleve/back thing would be nice. Dunno if it's allowed.

I'm not sure about the financially responsible thing. We get about 8m pounds from this, I believe. I'd hazard a guess that 8mill comes close to the costs in wages for 1 year for Ireland, Given and Bent. So we could shift them on and put Acorns (or another charity) on the front and come out even.

I guess what I am trying to say is that Dafabet probably get more out of being our sponsor (in terms of exposure) than Villa do by putting them on our shirt. I'm also over the whole "commercialism of football" thing, which I think has changed the game of football for the worse (this is a very small example of that).

Not really, in the grand scheme of things, I think it is totally irrelevant.

That would be your opinion, then :P:D

I suppose yeah.  :)

I will change my statement - Im quite surprised by how deep people's thoughts are regarding this matter.

For me it is just a shirt sponsor. I really do not see how any sponsorship deal will have a mega difference on the club to that of another. Now if the club decided we were not having a sponsor, that would be a bit different in terms of how it effects the club.

Just because the club haven't announced how much the deal is, doesn't mean that it is less than the genting deal. Perhaps Dafabet don't want the figures released, perhaps the club are negotiating transfers and don't want other clubs to know that they have an additional x amount in the accounts.

I don't gamble, never have. I daren't as it's in my genes.

I've seen heavy gambling destroy my dad and his dad. It's becoming an epidemic every bit as bad as alcohol abuse. I'm not that up-in-arms about it as some but it does leave a bad taste in my mouth (again). It goes against the whole 'family club' ethos.

I just feel Villa could do morally better.
