I hope Big Spunk gets it so I can despise Everton fans even more. A lot of my mates wanted Laudrup and firm about not wanting Martinez. I'd love them to get Peter Reid in haha. The better half would be gutted.

My money's on Phil Neville.

His wife tweeted yesterday that it would be emotional today

"Phil's last game at Everton as a player"

What about game 38?  :detect:

I'd imagine game 38 is not at Everton.

Ah I misread 'at' as 'fo'r.

Mystery solved. I'm a plank.

You don't get to say write solved I already wrote mystery solved so the mystery was already solved before you wrote mystery solved.

Mystery solved...by me...and kurtsimonw...not StefanAVFC

My top three predictions for Everton manager are

1) Benitez (That'd be interesting)

2) McLeish

3) Martinez

Martinez makes sense if Wigan drop down. But it could be anyone. Is pardrew safe at newcastle? Roberto might fancy that instead? Who knows. See a few managers moving on come the next few weeks.

Don't think this is a MON job

If Mancini has/does leave Man City. Could anyone see him at Everton?

I'll say no but obviously if that job does become vacant it's another high(er) profile managerial job up for grabs.

Dave Whelan's quoted in the Guardian as saying Everton is "not big enough" for Martinez.

"Whenever he wants to go I'll release him immediately but he'll only go to a big club and I don't think Everton are big enough," Whelan said. "But it's Roberto's decision and if he comes to me and says: 'I want to go', I'll say OK because we have such a great relationship. The lad's so honest and when he's so honest I trust him implicitly."
