The ticket office just called me about renewing my season ticket for next season, i asked about the possibility of extra tickets, the guy replied 'to be honest, its just not going to happen, its too close to the game now'.

Heard the same response today as well. Don't think the police up there would fancy more than 3,000 of us even if there is nothing riding on the game.

Its free money for them. I mean when is the next time they are going to get anywhere near a sell out at the Dave Whelan/JJB/Wigan Casino stadium?

This could very well be the 'Moral dilemma' for Whelan that makes him release some = More cha-ching.

Although by that logic he'd have expanded the away end (To 3/4 of the ground :)) A long time ago, so who knows?

Hope he does release more though, be good to have loads of Villa fans there.

Don't know how long this has been on the OS, but;

Villa have entered into further discussions with Wigan Athletic in relation to ticket allocation for Sunday's final day clash.

At present, we still remain sold out of our initial allocation of 3,000 tickets.

But the club are now in dialogue with Wigan Athletic, Great Manchester Police and West Midlands Police about the potential release of further seats for away supporters.

Please be aware that the game, which kicks-off at 4pm, is an all-ticket affair and supporters are strongly discouraged from travelling to the DW Stadium without a ticket.

Wigan Athletic will also not be selling tickets to our supporters on matchday.

Keep an eye on AVFC.co.uk for further details.

The origin of this quote can be found here so click on it if you don't even believe me. In other words I suppose you could call this the source, aka. 'sauce'

We already know from the WMP Villa twitter that there doesn't seem to be an issue with the 'OB' now that the relegation situation is decided, so it's all on Wigan, and I guess to a lesser extent Villa, and the problem of logistics when it comes to getting the tickets to the fans who want them in time for the match.
