who did you book with / how much if you dont mind me asking, id love to do that trip

Flights are costing me around $200 for the two legs (Melb->Sing & Sing->Tokyo), then around $600 (Tokyo->Melb). Aussie dollar obviously. Flying JetStar and Air Asia.

For some reason I only noticed this a few seconds ago.

I'd love to know where you got tickets at that price  :o

JetStar, on their website, were doing flights from here to Singapore for $190. Was for a limited time, so got in quick.

The other flights were through Air Asia and booked through their website.

Was more like $240 AUD but still pretty close :)

Edit: Just noticed your location. You in Canberra now? Nice one.

Yep :)

Not sure for how long though, my visa situations a little complicated.

Just steal a loaf of bread or something and get an extended stay ....

Budget? I don't know much about temporary accommodation, but I can try my best to help (don't feel like doing work right now anyway)

Not desperately budget, but £50 a night maximum. Was having serious trouble finding anything decent in that range. Funnily enough, Marina Bay Sands didn't have anything for me.

50quid works out to about S$97. I'm surprised you can't find a place that gives you your own room at that price tbh.

I did a quick search. Have you tried this yet? Private room for $88 a night.

I did find a few places, but finding places in a central location, with good tripadvisor reviews was a little more challenging.

This looks good though, and is within the price range.

Thanks  :)

How much does a flight cost to Japan these days ?

From the UK? circa £600 - £750 return (depends what offers the airlines have on and whether you want to go direct from Heathrow or not)

Anybody got any suggestions for good places to stay in Singapore?

It's all pretty expensive, and I'm staring down the barrel of a multi-share dorm room at the moment.

moonlight at the four floors and you might get your room for free each night :)

No problem :) I know a lot more about life there in general than I do about the city's temporary accommodation options (after all, I grew up there), so if there's anything else just ask.

What dates you looking at? Just yourself?
