Yep said it so many times, those pair were literally perfect for that sort of turn around and building the clubs place back in the community like they've done before which is crucial at a club like that. I know others have said that they are limited coaches but i amazed they have not got a job again. Not given a fair chance at Huddersfield who had a lot of problems adjusting to the Championship again.

At League One level it really isn't about coaching, their strengths are exactly what is needed at that level.

One For The Road
Just had a look at the league 1 table and can't believe the state of it! Sunderland mid table and Lincoln City cruising at the top. Looks like they could get promoted to the 2nd tier for what would surely be the first time in their history? Crazy. Edit: They were founder members of the 2nd division in 1892 but haven't been there for well over 100 years. Its actualky embarrassing they havent been able to get back up It's especially hard for them now too. They had a wage bill of a huge championship club in league one, and they weren't able to cut as many costs as they needed to once they went down. They got stuck with too much dead weight (Oviedo, Cattermole) and lost Josh Maja for basically nothing when he could have gone for 10-15 mil in the summer. Now with no fans it must be affecting their able spending, without the gates they get they become just another league 1 club but with insane running costs and an academy that really isn't as prolific as it should be. I lived in Sunderland for a bit, shit city full of pound shops and at the time they were a treading water prem team but they'd talk about themselves like they were Liverpool. **** em

VillaChris
Lincoln used that incredible cup run a few years back when they got to quarters and played Arsenal. Not just the money but they were getting close to 10k in league 2 so the city really fell in love with the club again after many years doing little in non league. Thought they'd fall back a bit losing the Cowley brothers but after a transitional six months Michael Appleton has done really well. League 1 is a really brutal league now. If Peterborough got 2nd you could have a play off of Hull, Ipswich, Sunderland and Portsmouth! So 3 of those have to stay in league one for at least another season and Charlton miss out altogether. It's become a mini championship now with plenty of clubs who were in premier league not so long ago.
