wigan win both their games were down. long way to go but a very good confident boosting game. no doubt Liverpool will be back to their best next week

I'm taking the positives and based on form I would replace us with Sunderland in your sentence. We have 10 points out of the last 18, they have 2. Who knows, glad we have points in the bag

Perfect - a trio of goals from Gabby, Andi and Christian. Thank you thank you thank you. We have won the two massive games we needed. Just need to keep the points ticking in now. It's up to Wigan to play catch up and you wouldn't fancy them with their next few fixtures.

Big props to Joe Bennett.

Really destroyed us in the first half but was really good in the second. Can take a lot of credit for Weimann's goal and he did some very crucial work in defence. Usually stands off his opponent too much but took them on today.

Harry's right - they should have had 3 on the board at half time.

But then again we could have had 3 on the board 10 minutes into the second half - so both teams were lucky in that respect.

Speaking of lucky - does anyone think Weimann handballed it in the leadup to Benteke's goal?

we ain't safe yet but that was huge result & performance. A lot of character to come from behind & to get back in front after the equaliser. Guzan MOTM but Weimann was vital too. Samba the first defender this season who's got better of Benteke physically, but he still couldn't stop him when he showed up in right place at right time to score the winner.

what's also great is that we're now back in touch with the midtable crowd, 3 behind Fulham, West Ham and co. So even if teams below us get a run of wins, we're not gonna be the only one being reeled in..

The first half we were dreadful, utterly clueless going forward and a stupid goal to concede, Guzan's heroics kept us in it and of course Gabby's goal out of the blue.

Second half we were superb, Bennett atoned and Weimann was class, Westwood was unlucky and their goal was lucky also, although they came back into it well.

so relieved we won, and to see that twitching corrupt **** squirm is priceless

Guzan 10 - Unbelievable saves
Baker 5 - Unfortunate injury although it was a strange place to put your head
Vlaar 7 - Thought he did a lot better today

Clark 6 - Tidy and no mistakes
Lowton 6 - Gets forward well but defending still iffy

Westwood 6 - Unlucky not to score, worked hard

Bannan 6 - Tidy at times, rubbish at others

Sylla 6 - Did ok but his tackles would have got him sent off had he stayed on
Gabby 7 - Looked wasted down the middle but still scored, much better second half

Benteke 6 - Wasn't quite at the races but another vital goal!
Weimann 7 - Great goal and never stops running!

Subs: Bennett 6 - Pass that cost us aside, he did well and got the assist for the second goal
Nzogbia 6 - Think we looked a bigger threat when he came on
Bowery - too late to rate

Lambert 8 - whatever he said at half time did the job, but please bring back Delph!
