Curiously though, if the Genting deal hasn't expired by the 15th, I believe we may be contractually obligated to show off the kit with their logo on it, correct? Don't we get like 70 million pounds from the broadcast deal even if we finish near relegation next season? What's 8 million pounds for a shirt sponsorship compared to that? I'd much rather have Acorns or Stan's foundation on the shirt and not a bloody gambling company again. They'd want to be offering a fair bit of money to make it worth it. It's a great point. Many on here would be happy with a beer manufacturer, but not a gambling firm? Why though, as their product both have the possibility to ruin lives if not used responsibly. Fast food? Fat kids with diabetes Car companies? Killing the planet Sportswear? Sweatshops Technology? More sweatshops Look hard enough and there's always something to complain about. No one wants a pay day loan company as they are truly awful, but I'm sure the grounds for objection on other brands are due to the 'coolness' of the association, thus reflecting in the standing of the club, as opposed to a moral objection. Would anyone object to Coca Cola which is sold and marketed to kids, despite the huge sugar content and link to diabetes? Of course not... so why object to a casino marketed purely to adults? Don't really think people turn into addicted gamblers just cos the Villa has a casino/betting site on its shirt. People that are gamblers would've turned it into ahbit without Villa's 'help'. Going to a casino is a decent night out, and can be enjoyed when done so responsible by responsible adults. certain sections of society do seem always want to blame companies, when sometimes it is the indivdual CONSENTING ADULTS fault for their own issues. Yes but everbody gets that, to stay ahead of the pack we need to be generating more income than the likes of Norwich so that extra little 8 mil is a necessary evil.
