These were the hardcore MAGAs representing every fascist paramilitary group in the country. I'm glad they had no guns with them but this was a political crime using violence. Its terrorism to me. Yeh the more I hear about it the worse it sounds.

That's weirdly vague... It is strange and one could be tempted into suspicious thinking. If I had to guess I’d say they died from heart attacks. Some of those red necks were overweight, old and very excited. Might have dislodged a whopping chunk of cholesterol in their rush to ransack the place.
Straggler
These 'rioters' brought with them at least one IED. I don't get how this is not significantly bigger news. Between that and zip ties guy, there is some pretty obvious evidence of preperation and forethought going into the coup. Failure to remove Trump now could end America, and we all know that if they sneeze we catch a cold.

I've seen it mentioned that one of the rioters gave himself a heart attack when he accidentally tasered himself shouldn't laugh if true, but I am so... don't think we've lost a cancer cure with that one. edit: obviously if it turns out it's non trumper that's died ( not excluding the "police" in that ) then obviously it's sad. First you had a woman being rolled out with a chest wound, which looked like a gunshot wound. Then you had live videos coming out of a woman being shot in the neck. I don't know where it was, but it looked to me like it could have been on the otherside of that wall picture you see security holding guns raised inside the chamber. So I'm pretty sure it's two gunshot casualties.
KenjiOgiwara
Two things absolutely baffles me and I still can't understand it, nor have a heard any explanation for it. 1) How come the police spent 2-3 hours getting there. Must have been a couple of hours from it was clear a major breach was in place by people carrying guns to police was mobilized. Even in Norway, which has a very different policing culture and size for that matter, you would have police and special forces everywhere if the senate was breached by armed terrorists after a protest. I really don't understand. It's like the police were held back on purpose. 2) How they could allow these terrorists to go in, cause havoc, loot and what's worse, then allow them to just walk back out and disappear. How they weren't arrested on the outside at once. That's unreal to me. But looking back at it, or how it was seen live to me, it was white priviledge in action. If those protestors had been black.. I imagine a very different outcome. And when I read what's coming out of the mouth of Matt Gaetz. Jesus. What an enormous piece of agitating shit. Popular Post desensitized43
Looking across the pond at this it's pretty horrific that a racist loser has been able to blatantly lie, concoct a false narrative, whip up mob to try and prevent the democratically elected house doing it's duty. I think it's worth remembering that it was only slightly over 12 months ago that our own government lied to the Queen in order to shut down and prevent our own democratically elected house from doing it's duty.

It has been confirmed that it was Pence that eventually gave the order. There are HUGE questions over this, or there should be.

The US Capitol is Federal property, hence policed by Federal institutions saturated by Trump appointees (FBI, Army, National Guard). The Washington Police has nothing to do with these areas and hence the leaders of the liberal leaning local government were most likely told to stay out. Rumours have it that it was Pence who called in the National Guard who were eventually the ones to get control here. Trump did absolutely nothing. There's scenes of policemen inside the Capitol taking selfies with the MAGA-crew.

So I'm pretty sure it's two gunshot casualties. The lady shot in the neck was at the barrier which leads to the actual chambers where the votes were being counted. The internet has found her Twitter account, she was ex military and had come from San Diego to take part in the rally. I'm late to this thread, I was working when everything blew up so forgive me if I'm repeating anything which has already been asked but: 1] Isn't this an attempted coup? 2] If it isn't a coup then why isn't it at least the most spectacular attempt at domestic terrorism in a Western nation since, say, Guy Fawkes? 3] If it really is that easy to storm the US Capitol then how lucky are the Americans that a hostile nation hasn't attempted it, and I wonder if any hostile nations with people in the US are kicking themselves they didn't capitalise on this opportunity to rock the world? I'm not sure how the internal politics of the police/security/secret service works, but to me this is a sack-everybody-and-start-again-with-new-people level of cock up. Obviously that isn't going to happen but heads will have to roll, and soon.
sne
Fascinating that some of these "celebrities" chooses to die on this hill. Kevin, Sorbo, Randy Quaid, Scott Baio, Tito Ortiz and a few others all claiming it was Antifa. I know there are celebrities who believe in even stupider things but still. Genie
If say 3 or 4 dark skinned males in Middle Eastern attire had tried that I imagine that building would be resembling a pile of rubble now, and the response would have been 1000x faster and harder. KenjiOgiwara
Okay I understand the difference between federal and non federal jurisdiction (I think). But how can there not be any laws enforcing police to support the federal government against illegality (and I'm using that loosely - terrorism is a better word) on a federal ground? Shit most professions in most nations, in most fields, have ethical laws bound upon them in emergencies.
Wainy316
I'd love to see the result of the election was re run today. Obviously the cult of Trump is well and truly alive but surely he'd lose a massive chunk of those 74m votes?

The only difference between Johnson pricks and Trump pricks is that the Trump ones are more likely to have a gun on them.
