It supposedly hasn't come from Cohen, the Mueller team have gathered this from emails and other documents in their possession. Well we've been hearing this or something like it for two years, and actual hard evidence is still to be produced. So much wishful thinking... no mention of the recent confirmation that the FBI withheld the material knowledge that the evidence they presented to the FISA court was backed by the political opponent of the presidential candidate whom the warrant was requested for. The apparatus of the national security state was used against the political opponents of those in power, and people claim Trump is a threat to democracy. It was part of it, but not what triggered the investigation to begin with and was not the basis for the request. Given that it was there, should they just pretend that it didn't exist? Should they tell the court that it should automatically be considered bogus just because the firm who hired the man who assembled it was now working for the Clinton machine (even though he was working for Republicans when he did the research)? Can the DoJ and FBI never investigate anyone in the party that doesn't hold the White House because of a concern that it will be seen as the national security state being used against political opponents of those in power? They can only investigate their own, then? Regardless of what you think of the FBI and their escapades, they have generally gone to great lengths to be independent of party politics since the days of Hoover. Even then, I doubt the party in power would have made Hoover do anything he didn't already agree with.
